Major insurers, state health-care officials and Democratic allies repeatedly warned the Obama administration in recent months that the new federal health-insurance exchange had significant problems, according to people familiar with the conversations. Despite those warnings and intense criticism from Republicans, the White House proceeded with an Oct. 1 launch.
A week after the federal Web site opened, technical problems continued to plague the system, and on Tuesday people were locked out until 10 a.m., although some applicants were able to sign up as the day went on. Officials said they were working 24 hours a day to improve the system and that they were confident it would soon be able to meet the demand. They added that there was ample time to correct the site to allow consumers to get insured by Jan. 1.

Robert Laszewski, a health-care consultant with clients in the insurance industry, said insurers were complaining loudly that the site, www.healthcare.gov, was not working smoothly during frequent teleconferences with officials at the Department of Health and Human Services before the exchanges launch and afterward. People were pulling out their hair, he said.
Outsourced to India?
LOL....just for shits and grins, I tried accessing and logging onto the site about 2 hrs ago and got tired of waching a spinning hourglass before abandoning my efforts.
Obamacare is a train wreck!
Indians and ACORN workers to have access to all our personel records.
What could go wrong?
Why not grant tax credits on the IRS form 1040, for those who buy qualified insurance plans with old fashioned paper applications?
Obamacare training taught me that you can buy qualified insurance on the exchange or off the exchange. Those policies sold off the exchange must be identical to those policies sold on the exchange, with ONE exception: Policies sold directly, or “off the exchange” do NOT qualify for the tax credits or subsidies, or so we were told.
If they allowed those who were willing to wait for their tax credits, until tax time, to receive that credit on their 1040, it would take a great deal of pressure off of the Obamacare websites.
I haven’t even seen any updates of livid comments on their facebook page ever since 10/5/13. Between the high rates and the website not working, they have enough bad comments on that site to drive many people away. They must have shut the comments down.
LOL! Perhaps this is the schemers plan all along to drive the insurance companies out of business faster.
IRRC they cut the comments out.
Self proclaimed two time Obama voter
...shes now shocked, just shocked over the Obamacare realities
"Of course, I want people to have health care," she said .
" I just didn't realize I would be the one who was going to pay for it personally."
Cindy Vinson, San Jose California
i checked out the page and was loaded with negative comments early tonight...
I wonder if this “crash” is intentional. They knew the number of applicants would be minimal so the crash is a way to hide it. This is also obama’s chance to back out of this fiasco that nobody read. The only thing obama had to do with it was sign it.
Each according to their needs and ability to pay, Cindy.
In a land, long ago and far away, wouldn’t those fancy exchanges no one can get to, be accessed by TALKING to an insurance agent??
Thats all it is... Only if people were talking to an insurance agent last year and the agent told them how little coverage they would be getting for their money, no one would have bought it. This year they are forcing people to buy it unless they have an exemption from our dear leader.
Yeah....and the insurance agent has passed the very rigorous state insurance license ....including and extensive background check.
You have until December 15 to sign up for health coverage that will start January 1, 2014, but you can sign up for coverage through March 31, 2014! Thanks again for your patience as we work to make the enrollment process go more smoothly.
They've already written the executive order for "single payer"?
