A new poll indicates more Americans blame Republicans for the partial government shutdown than blame Democrats,while the approval rating for lawmakers is appallingly low.
A poll released Wednesday by the Associated Press and GfK shows some 62 percent of more than 1,000 people surveyed said Republicans are to blame for the government shutdown that began last Tuesday, while about half of the respondents said the Democrats or U.S. President Barack Obama bore the greater share of responsibility.
Approval for members of Congress was all the way down to 5 percent.

Smells like hype to me. But if it is true and accurate about the state of the American mind, we are in even deeper crap than I previously thought.

Voice of America (VOA) is the official external broadcast institution of the United States federal government. It is one of five civilian U.S. international broadcasters working under the umbrella of the Broadcasting Board of Governors (BBG).So it's safe to assume that both parties are blamed equally or, more likely, the Democrats are receiving more of the blame.
This is good news. In the '95 shutdown, Republicans received 22% more of the blame.

I believe it. People are not interested in truth or fact. When I tell someone the House has funded this or that, people just roll their eyes at me. They do not care, this is the survivor generation and I mean plugged into Hollywood and not true survivor independence. I hear more about Hollywood than anything, with no idea what they are talking about.
They are not interested to hear this is the 18th shutdown. They are conditioned, perhaps by some epigenetic fluke of constant interment in government schools. The same schools that have denied them knowledge of how to succeed.
Still, I see this as good news. A 10% gap isn't bad at this point. And I would still add in a 5% bias.
What's most important is the trend. Time is on our side, as people learn more about Obamacare.

People seem to absorb uncritically what's in the atmosphere, i.e. the media smog.
People seem to have a habitual trust in government institutions and the media which, as you say, is likely the result of childhood institutionalization.

The poll could be accurate within itself. But, in order to know whether it is representative of the general population is another question. My guess is that the sample is skewed so to achieve the desired result. An input; I am 68 years old and I have yet to be polled for one of these surveys. Go figure, lol!

don’t believe any crap poll that is published...if the numbers were going against democrats the poll would be scrapped..V of A is leftward slant..
Also note the wording of the story. It throws out the 62% as a number, which draws the eye, while saying that “more than half” blame Obama/Dems. Which essentially buries that part - people will focus on and remember the 62% while the “half” blends in with the other words.
It’s a subtle, but very effective manipulation tactic.

I believe that the press actually thinks they are doing the right thing by being so liberal. They don’t know that they are siding with evil.
About five years ago I was interviewed in a parking lot by a reporter for National Public Radio. It was one of those man on the street type interviews. I started questioning the reporter about her knowledge of our Constitution. By the time she walked away she was stuttering and stammering, like someone we know without a teleprompter.
VOA is now Pravda.
