TUSAYAN, Ariz. (AP) Nearly two dozen people have been issued citations for entering Grand Canyon National Park after a partial government shutdown forced its closure.
Grand Canyon Chief Ranger Bill Wright says some people have been caught at the South Rim, on trails, attempting rim-to-rim hikes or trying to sneak in through dirt roads.
All of the citations will be handled by the U.S. Attorneys Office. Wright says each of the 21 citations issued as of Monday has a mandatory order to appear in federal court.

Good, if it’s true. If I were closer I would go just to get cited. I want some AR armed thug to tote me off the land of We The People. Maybe next weekend I can at least find a closed park to hold a sign that says Mr Obeyme... Tear down this barricade! Or maybe I will get cited at a different park.
I get it that the rangers were confused the first day or so. But now, they should not be issuing citations, removing people, or maintaining barriers. The are OUR national parks, and not the president’s. “just following orders” is not acceptable in times of crisis.
The feds are going to crucify every single person they cite to
send their message....the only one they want us to hear.
‘SHUT UP, SUBMIT OR PAY THE PRICE”
This has gone far beyond any peaceful resolution.
Blood will be shed, the only question left is whose
blood will it be and how much.
If we the people don’t fight back blood will still flow.
But it will be one sided as it usually is during government
cannot help but wonder if they would shoot if given the order. They seem to have that mentality
I found that over the years the government employee trend to treat land owned by the people as land owned by themselves.
“Oh, how we burned in the camps ...”
Fedgov is behaving precisely like an occupying hostile military.
If rangers are furloughed, then they should be home playing video games instead of handing out citations. If there are a few still on the job, then there’s surely more important duties they need to be doing.
They behave that way because that is exactly what they are.
So the brown shirts are blocking a state highway now because people are daring to move cones on overlooks so they can see their country. The State needs to start arresting the Feds and people need to show up in sufficient numbers to deter Obama’s goons from arresting them. Beyond that, if you are going to be ordered to Federal court if you are given a ticket, are the Feds drawing down on citizens to force identification and compliance on trails? How far will this go?
Wait till the IRS is giving everyone a cavity search through the healthcare scam. A few park rangers with glocks will seem tame.
Where are the sheriffs?
I should be thanking God that my husband no longer flies Grand Canyon air tours. “Can” meet “whoop ass” on this in Arizona. Jan (I love her) Brewer, open carry to the grocery store, open carry a necessity to walk to the laundry (wildlife).... I hope these morons are planning their moves now because good luck continuing to live there.
Grand Canyon village is a small town. Those I have talked to who still live there are convinced, to a person, this is the Tea Party’s fault.
But remember, the only radio station available in the park is NPR.
But I bet a lot of law-dogs are going to have to transfer.
This land is your land, this land is .... nevermind.
I guess our land was annexed by the monarchy. Do not trespass on the King’s property.
I have known many park rangers who were real Americans and decent people. I hope the number willing to follow a petty tyrant is very small.
We didn’t live in the village, we lived in Valle. I did not know one person that would have put up with this...but then we didn’t live in the village, beholden to the park service.
oh boy. The OGestapo will be after thee folks.
