I no longer have any doubts about that. They will do as they’re told.

We do have a public safety issue at Grand Canyon National Park. People hike down into the Canyon, thinking that they won’t get into trouble and then have to be rescued.

I’m not wild about the National Park shutdown and fail to see the reason why inns on the Blue Ridge Parkway have been forced to be closed or why the parking lot at Mount Vernon has been blocked. I’m no fan of the Barrycades and cannot fathom why Obama thinks imposing these difficulties is a good idea.

Grand Canyon is my favorite National Park and I hate to see it be closed. But, given that people increasingly don’t know their limitations, closing that particular site may be necessary.

As an aside, I wonder what is being done about the rafters on the Colorado River. If all goes well, then they will have no contact with the National Park staff after putting in at Lee’s Ferry, but I assume that someone is manning the emergency call line should a rafting party have an emergency and need assistance.

Or that a small, evil minority can wreck the reputation of the moral majority. It would not surprise me if the thugs are offering to pay those who will persecute decent Americans. Brownshirts may be offered status as "essential" workers if they are willing to issue citations to decent people, and it only takes a few who will do it for the money or for the power trip.

The Park Service is notorious for believing park visitors are intruders, invading the park employee’s ‘home’. They are thrilled to have the chance to turn the intruders away!

It seems that there are a lot of them for a "small evil minority." I read that the Barrycades at the Pisgah Inn are manned by 5 rangers 24/7. Running eight hour shifts that's 15 of them just for that. Then you add up all of the rangers that are running around in other parks issuing citations for trespass it ads up to quite a few.

There needs to be a legal way to make these apparatchiks pay a price for carrying out the emperor's orders and to motivate them to change - be it shunning, refusal to allow them to buy groceries, or be served in local restaurants, posting of their names, pictures and locations so the neighbors know about them, lawsuits for illegal arrests and tickets, or whatever.
