Obama Administration Denies Mass to Catholics
Apparently, a priest was denied access to a military chapel this weekend. Father Ray Leonard serves at Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay in Georgia but because of the government shutdown, he wasn’t allowed to go to celebrate Mass this past weekend.
He is contracted by the Defense Department to meet the spiritual needs of Catholics, but not now. The chapel doors were locked and the sign said, “Shutdown: No Catholic service till further notice.”
Father Leonard said the following:
“This is our church, Catholics have an expectation and obligation to attend Mass and we were told, ‘No you can’t go to church this week…“ My parishioners were upset. They were angry and dismayed. They couldn’t believe that in America they’d be denied access to Mass by the government.”
“Time and time again this Administration demonstrates it is waging a war against the very religious freedoms upon which America was founded. This is exactly why we worked to pass legislation (House Concurrent Resolution 58) this past weekend – to protect the religious liberties of all those who bravely serve in our Armed Forces.”
Partly payback for calling for Pelosi to be denied communion?
The priest doesn’t need a church to say Mass and should have set up and said Mass in the parking lot. I’m waiting to hear whether any of the Catholic clergy really pushed back on this. I want someone arrested.
Did they take away all muslim prayer rugs too? or is that still allowed?

Communion he can give out but if its locked inside the building there’s not much he can do short of breaking in.

When Catholic priests stop saying Mass because the government said so, not only is it a problem for the government but also for this Catholic priest who simply wimped out. Hold Mass ANYWHERE just like it used to happen in Communist or Nazi countries.

The military priests I knew had field cases with hosts in them and everything else they needed to say Mass

But the priest can say mass only in consecrated space.We've had Mass held a couple of times in our home. And there are sports teams whose chaplains have held Mass at airports as the players awaited their flights.
We can say mass anywhere. It’s being allowed and recognized is a different case

I’m sure it is allowed. My brother-in-law is an orthodox Roman Catholic priest, and he wouldn’t have said Mass at our home if it wasn’t allowed.

Same would go for an evangelical worship service. It could be done “al fresco” as long as weather reasonably cooperated. But this is an important reminder view into the administration mindset, IMHO. If anyone wanted to remember what they are hostile to... now you know. They react like a vampire from a... crucifix.
I suppose they could say they have the lights and utilities off to conserve cash, but I wonder if they actually do. It just screams “infantile stunt” to me.
And all those Democrat Catholics who voted for Obama are having their nightmare of sticker shock and buyer’s remorse just about now.

As an evangelical I don’t know the detailed drill, but I’d guess they would want some sort of blocked off area for the duration of the ceremony, dedicating its use for that time (you don’t have cars driving through, people walking through etc., distracting from the intended worship). The same would be desired for an evangelical worship service for obvious reasons.
Well that’s how God sometimes has to warn believers who think there is “safety in numbers” when those numbers are worldly. The world is going to have to reconcile with God or get judged for its shortfall (actually its shortfall punishes itself — shying away from God’s blessings gets... SURPRISE... curses).
All you need is a Field Kit, Containing Crucifix, candles, small chalice, etc .... Note in the picture , the use of a standard GI issue blanket to cover the hood of the Jeep.Everything fits into a box the size of a shoebox. As far as as wafers for the Host, Normal bread can be used in a pinch.

Canon Law gives the proper guidelines.
That is all you need.
Plus the good reason of necessity, such as religious persecution and a reason for not being able to get to a church.

Have been to Mass in several embassies in enemy (Moslem) countries.
This is a religion with a history of gathering in caves when under prosecution. If the Good Lord is deciding to turn bread into His Flesh I’m going to guess He’s not limited to special locations.

Dereliction of duty is an Impeachable Offense, as stipulated in the US Constitution. Dereliction of duty is also a US Military offense subject to a Courts Martial.
Will our sorry Congressional RINOs do their usual kid gloves, “boys will be boys” approach to Obama’s numerous violations of the US Constitution, or will they FINALLY draw up The Articles of Impeachment for B. Hussein Obama?

And I was defending the priest. He was in an unusual situation. And he wants attention paid to the religious persecution aspect.
