More than 10,000 people in Arkansas were dumped into a blackout Sunday following an attack on that states electric grid, the FBI said today, the third such attack in recent weeks. In August, a major transmission line in the region, around Cabot, Ark., was deliberately cut.
The FBI said that two power poles had been intentionally cut in Lonoke County on Sunday, resulting in the outage.
According to the FBI:
In the early morning hours of September 29, 2013, officials with Entergy Arkansas reported a fire at its Keo substation located on Arkansas Highway 165 between Scott and England in Lonoke County. Fortunately, there were no injuries and no reported power outages. Investigation has determined that the fire, which consumed the control house at the substation, was intentionally set. The person or persons responsible for this incident inscribed a message on a metal control panel outside the substation which reads, YOU SHOULD HAVE EXPECTED U.S.

The implication appears to be that the culprit not only knew where to find the equipment he needed to cause a power outage, but he also know how to use that equipment well enough to pull down two utility poles.

Yep, its all on Youtube
It made me think, in the 1965 blackout the recorded crime rate was lowest that day than in the citys history, 12 years later when the blackout hit, there was widespread looting and arson.
So, what made the city so different in 12 years?

But terror doesn’t work on a Redneck like it does those soft city fellers.
It just p!sses us off.
;)
But it doesn't say "expect us"; it says "expect U . S . ". Just a typo, you think?
What does that mean?
“You should have expected us”?
or
“You should have expected [this], U.S.”?

I wondered about that as well. Maybe it is a signal something wicked this way comes? The US Power Grid drill is coming in November - perhaps this was a beta test?
Heh heh heh.
It has that disjointed “childs imagining” vibe to the writing.
islamism until demonstrated otherwise.
There are some people here that joke around about the Amish who are a gentle people. In a way it’s funny but then sometimes ... anyway I was kinda adding to that. R/Janey
Almost certainly an inside job by an employee at the power company. Now to figure out why.
There really is a difference. The Amish are always in the way with those damn buggies. They annoy me. Mennonites are much cooler and they drive cars like normal people.
We'll know it's a right winger when NBC sends down trucks to cover every aspect of the story.
We'll know the crime was done by a Muslim or a black when Homeland Insecurity announces it was NOT an act of terrorism... and NBC refuses to cover the story.
Yep, don’t underestimate a redneck. Of any color.
I live in Ark. and have a solar power system. I run a few things off the grid but mostly on solar. The only way I know if the grid goes down is if the clock on my stove goes out.
Hmmmm-—— now what large company has a Lonoke factory that left wing scum would dislike?
Check out this oldie from earlier this month. Portent of things to come?
Preppers’ PING!!
I missed this one folks but thanks to a heads up from Tolerance Sucks Rocks here it is. HAT TIP TO YOU Tolerance!
Great summary. Sad but true.
