The Pisgah Inn on the Blue Ridge Parkway in North Carolina created a publicity crap storm for the Spite House when operators were forced to close during the government shutdown. The inn sits on federal land and despite the owners attempt to defy orders from the Park Police, he was forced to close his doors and throw away spoiled food during the height of fall foliage season.
Today, the inn will reopen at 5 p.m. and all October reservations will be honored.
Didn’t they have to dispose of a lot of perishable inventory yesterday?
I think it deserves breaking news status. The bastards blinked.
It should ban federal employees from staying there.
Good for these people! I hope folks make an extra attempt to dine there and enjoy the beautiful surroundings in order to make up for the lost revenue.
We’re winning. The Community Organizer doesn’t understand street theater? He doesn’t understand the people?
This is the worst politics I’ve ever seen. Who is running this guy?
Free Republic had the story almost an hour before Twichy
I like the way you think!!
In a truly free country they would have the right to refuse service to Federal Nazis.
If it ain’t on FRee Republic, it ain’t news!
“This is the worst politics Ive ever seen. Who is running this guy?”
The Lizard Queen Jarrett.
His petulant desire for vengeance causes him to make stupid mistakes.
Sounds like teh kind of place that has a woodshed where Bammy could be (new) skooled.
Yes quite a bit of food supposedly. Poor owner better look out IRS colonoscopy coming soon, courtesy of the boy king.
Never let a good disaster go to waste. With the shutdown we know exactly where to cut government fat out of the system. Let’s get trimming in 2014.
Keep the names of the thugs who enforced this for a national database of Shameful Americans. The citizens need to come to know that being a government thug is a Shameful thing.
These episodes of park police doing this blockading and closing of even private properties have revealed something: the arrow of their loyalties points away from the people and toward the government.
If things go badly for the country, you might want to keep that in mind.
