Citizens United endorses Rep. Broun in Georgia Senate race
The Hill ^ | October 8 2013 | Cameron Joseph

Citizens United is endorsing Rep. Paul Broun (R-Ga.) in the crowded Georgia Senate primary.

The nod from the conservative group will give the Tea Party favorite a boost — and establishment Republicans new reason to be concerned about the race.

Establishment Republicans have publicly fretted about Broun winning the primary, fearing he might not be the party's best candidate in a general election.

The congressman regularly refers to President Obama as a socialist and communist, and has said evolution and the big bang theories are lies "from the pit of hell."

I don't know yet but I sure hope that at least one of the other candidates is not a laughing stock.

Broun is the real deal. Look at his website and listen to him if you get the chance. Common sense embodied in this individual.

I can’t wait to vote for Dr. Paul Broun for the upcoming senate seat. He will be fantastic and will stand shoulder to shoulder with Cruz, Lee and Rand. He and Tom Graves are 2 of the few reps that always take a stand and vote the right way.

Why do you believe that Dr. Broun is a laughing stock?

Try this for starters:

U.S. Rep. Paul Broun: Evolution a lie 'from the pit of hell'

Evolution, embryology and the Big Bang theory are major underpinnings of mainstream science. And Georgia Republican Rep. Paul Broun, a physician who sits on the House Science, Space and Technology Committee, says they are “lies straight from the pit of hell.”

O.K., so for starters, you disagree with his religious views.
So, what else you got?

He can have whatever religious views he wishes, but he should keep such views under wraps if he's going to sit on the Committee on Science and Technology.

GA Congressman: Obama Could Use Pandemic To Declare Martial Law

I don't trust Obama one lick, but that's frothing paranoia.

I just love it when the faux conservatives out themselves using their very own bell curve. And more than that they have no shame. Vote for your purist liberal and then you can hold your head up.

In the campaign, I think that Paul Broun will be smart enough to avoid subjects (such as Creationism or Deism) that are irrelevant to his role as a US Senator. If folks, such as yourself or various mainstream media types trying to set a trap, raise such questions, he should just avoid answering them because of irrelevance.

That makes no sense. I would not do such a thing.

And - there's this:

“There are a lot of scientific data that I’ve found out as a scientist that actually show that this is really a young earth, ” Broun said in a videotape of the Sportsmen’s Banquet held on September 27 at Liberty Baptist Church in Hartwell, Georgia. “I don’t believe that the earth is but about 9,000 years old.

He's absolutely entitled to his faith and beliefs, but there is vast scientific evidence to the contrary of this statement and the libs + media WILL use this quote against him and every other GOP candidate.

Even if he didn't mean it like he said it (ala Akin) - it's already out there.

Well, you already did—see post 10 above. I’m simply saying that things such as the issue you raised are raised in the future, he should just say that’s unrelated to what he will be doing in the Senate and have no further discussion of it.

Unlike the idiot Akins did in the last election—he willingly (and needlessly) entered the snare set for him. That (and the idiot Mourdock’s equally unnecessary discussions) should serve as a lesson for ALL conservatives.
