House Speaker John Boehner's office says a small group of House Republicans will meet with President Barack Obama Thursday instead of the full caucus that the White House invited.
Boehner spokesman Brendan Buck said Wednesday that the meeting is only worthwhile if it's focused on finding a solution. So Buck said only the elected leadership and select committee chairmen will attend — 18 lawmakers out of the 232 invited.

I just read that Ryan has recommended some small cuts to Medicare and Social Security as a trade off for giving Obama everything he wants.
I’m really sorry to hear this. I liked Ryan, but he sure sold out.
The cuts will probably “only” affect things like the disposable elderly or handicapped anyway, so heck, that will improve Obama’s bottom line.
Tell Boehner if he wishes to remain Speaker he needs to send only Tea Party members to the Obama meeting.

Obama hoped to get next to the 17 or 21 House Republicans who favor a clean CR resolution. Boehner wasn’t having it!
One question. 5 years, no budget. Why?
he doesn’t necessarily wish anything we might ascribe to hem.
I think he wants to be speaker of a minority group and side with Obama every chance and hang out at parties or on the golf course or what ever he does to waste his life doing nothing important.
He needs to get out of that seat and let someone in there who is willing to do his job.

With all the talk about Ryan working on a backroom immigration bill, I wouldn’t be surprised if he promises full amnesty for some little cut in the budget from the dems.
Using this phrase is loading the meme of the enemy into the front of your brain. "Clean" is a poor choice of words. Perhaps "kitchen sink" or "gravy train" is a better choice.
