Ryan Drops All Obamacare Demands in WSJ Op-Ed

On Monday, former vice presidential candidate Rep. Paul Ryan (R-WI) wrote an op-ed in the Wall Street Journal, suggesting that Republicans drop all Obamacare demands in their push for a deal on the debt ceiling and a continuing resolution to fund the government. Instead, he suggested that Republicans look for a bargain on entitlement reform, a pet project of his, as well as tax reform. “This isn't a grand bargain. For that, we need a complete rethinking of government's approach to helping the most vulnerable, and a complete rethinking of government's approach to health care. But right now, we need to find common ground. We need to open the federal government. We need to pay our bills today—and make sure we can pay our bills tomorrow. So let's negotiate an agreement to make modest reforms to entitlement programs and the tax code,” Ryan wrote.

Obama used the NSA to find dirt on him.

*********
My thought as well. He’s been compromised in some way, just like Roberts.

Keep your decorum. Ryan’s making the correct move here. It’s time to pivot, take another cut at government and move on.

We’re not going to get rid of Obamacare this go round and we’re better off letting people learn to hate it all the way.

What motivates these guys?

Couldn’t agree more; you’d think being an American matters to these guys, but it seems greased palms and greed ensuring they have theirs for life and somehow we’ll just think it’s ok and believe them. Why do they think we’re that stupid? I sincerely believe we are MUCH MUCH more intelligent than 99% of the inside the beltway occupants.

“...My thought as well. He’s been compromised in some way, just like Roberts.....”

Probably threatened his wife and kids just like they did with “Benedict” Roberts.
When NSA and the IRS became political tools, they should have been abolished. They no longer serve for the good of the People, but instead that of the communist party. Damn shame really.

-——We’re not going to get rid of Obamacare this go round -—

You are correct.

The Tea Party demand was heard, analyzed, and acted on. As about everybody that truly understood reckoned, it was rejected and not acted on by the Senate. The Obamacare funding bill is for the time being dead

To oppose the House leadership for gearing up for the next assault is truly foolish. The battles are being waged.

The outcome is uncertain but since the rejection, obamacare is falling apart and is a terrible blow to the DNC ability to fight on so many fronts. While total victory is unlikely in the immediate future, the tide has changed

Ryan has been dead to me since he made the radio ad for amnesty.

70% of immigrants—of all kinds—vote for abortion.

Anyone who seeks more immigration, or citizenship for illegals, or lax law enforcement that permits illegals to vote, is pro-abortion.

And that includes Archbishop Gomez, Bishop Blaire, Cardinal Dolan, etc., etc.

I had forgotten about his endorsement of gay adoption—something that the Catholic Church unambiguously condemns as a violation of the rights of the child. Ryan seems to have got the memo on abortion, but not gay adoption.

we fund obamacare for another year.”

My family represents only five votes but none of us will vote for anyone in 2014 who votes to fund Obamacare for another year unless such a bill also includes the immediate impeachment of Obama.

Exactly, you don’t get there in a straight line or via one last final battle. We need to win Congress in 2014. Let that be our goal.

Given Obamacare’s disastrous start and known faults a lot of toss ups are going our way. Find good candidates, support the leaders as they move forward and wring concessions along the way.

Keep in mind that Obama is scared. He’s losing. Sequestration happens again in 2014 without a budget deal. Plus, all his shenanigans keep F&F, Benghazi, IRS targeting, etc. out of the news.

This proves my pet contention that the real opponent we have in this particular budget battle is the RINO, not the Demovik.

It’s going to be the real opponent we face from now until 2016 and possibly beyond. We either convert or crush the RINOs—or we lose.

The NSA and IRS gave Obama political weapons the likes of which he never hoped to see in his wildest dreams. Chicago, where he learned the fine art of extortion, is a minor thugocracy compared to the destructive intimidation power that Washington has afforded him. Its open season on any poltician who opposes him.

He’s a sheep in wolf’s clothing. Trying to appear outwardly tough, but deep down a weak appeaser.
