I think these almost daily incidents of bizarre, dangerously provocative are spontaneous. If this were arranged or directly manufactured, I would expect more time to elapse between shootings, allowing certain senators and congressmen to fund raise or propose new restrictive legislation. As it is now, the happenings are so frequent that the public is almost ready to call these a ‘non-event’ unless it happens in their own backyard.

The plot of a movie some time back (which I did not see) was dealing with an epidemic of (high profile, I think) suicides. With this (shooting at a building), the immolation on the mall, and the shooting of the unarmed mother in D.C., I am reminded of the movie.

WHEELING, W.Va. A gunman identified as a former Wheeling police officer fired multiple shots into the federal courthouse Wednesday afternoon before he was shot and killed by police.

guess we need to start disarming former cops instead of letting them carry everywhere.

"This is a federal building with judges and prosecutors and law enforcement," Claxton said. "It's a very serious incident that infringes upon the third branch of government."Not sure prosecutors and law enforcement are included in the third branch of government, but the judges certainly belong there. Must be mission creep.
