Jake Tapper on media bias: Most reporters have never fired a gun, worked 9 to 5
The Daily Caller ^ | 9 October, 2013 | Jake Tapper

Award-winning journalist and author Jake Tapper says most reporters’ bias comes from being out of touch.

In an Ask Me Anything (AMA) on Reddit today, Tapper wrote:

“I think there are a lot of hard-working reporters in NYC and DC who have never fired a gun, or never worked a 9-5 manual labor job, or lived in the middle of the country, or worried about their next paycheck, or have anyone in their family who serves in the military and I think that creates a cultural bias. But I also think there are a lot of reporters who work to counter that and understand the limitations of their own realities. But yes, I do think there is bias. Reluctant to name names though because I try to be collegial.”

The old media has repeatedly shown that it puts the "progressive" agenda before profits. The old media is losing money, market share and readership as they lose credibility.

They have been willing to trade credibility for political power for the last twenty years. The question is, will the old media die fast enough to save the republic?

They went all out to elect and re-elect President Obama, and they were successful. I have to admit, though, I do not think they could have done it in 2012 without the assistance of Google, Google's data base of people and their preferences, and the algorithms that Google has developed for influencing low information voters.

It also helped that the establishment GOP foisted a Socialist ringer to face Zero.

Information supportive of Romney and his supporters in the public was systematically suppressed and censored to influence the outcome. Bias is one thing but the media’s role in Obama’s 2012 re-election goes far beyond cultural misunderstanding to the point of not only being in the tank for a candidate but working overtime to help him beat his opponent.

The press should be not only a collective propagandist and a collective agitator, but also a collective organizer of the masses.

“The question is, will the old media die fast enough to save the republic?”

And that is the question of the day. Unfortunately, I think the old media is “too big to fail” and will get a government subsidy before that happened. Which will only formalize the already existing relationship between the old media and their statist masters.

It’s just a matter of time till some Liberal introduces a financial handout program for big city newspapers.

“The question is, will the old media die fast enough to save the republic?”

It will, but only if we help it. We can help it die by forming an organization that imposes letter writing campaigns and boycotts to separate the media from its sponsors in response to blatant bias.

What the MSM dishes out is more than just bias—it’s AGITPROP. They collude with the DNC, Obama, Reid and Pelosi.

Lol, the way they make it sound like anything outside of NYC/DC (Mecca/Medina) is another country. Do they have flush potties out there in Dallas?
