I guess I’m just starting to realize how the acceptance of brutal police work coincides with an increase of governmental dependence. You can’t get away with the former without the latter. Most boot lickers are go along to get along - fewer are truly in favor of the statism, but they exist. Heck, they’re right here on the FR.

People were right to fear the formation of police forces.

Tensions were high because she was using her car as a weapon, but I do question the use of deadly force. If this would have occurred outside Washington DC (White House and Capital) there would be criticism of police force. NOT to mention the lady was African American so one can image the race card. I guess when the King and his Lords are threatened, the state run press does not question the police.

The clients of the federal government basically have no problem with exercise of state power. They know it is, or will soon be, there for their direct benefit.

This story disappeared from the news at the speed of light, and the collective memories wiped clean.

ACLU & NOW don’t care what happens to any Obama victim. That would be un-PC to the max.

They don’t care what happens to female victims of Islam, either. Their silence is both deafening & hypocritical.

I tend to be a hardcore libertarian and I question the use of force. I do agree that she did use her car as a weapon so I would have to ask the police if they tried other measures first or they just shot here. Like you, I wonder where Al Sharpton is on this one, same with Jessie Jackson, I think even they would have some grounds of legitimacy here, not the race issue but the possibility of excessive force. Yet, they are silent.

The answer should be obvious.

There are no political points to be made here.

The DC police killed a Black woman. DC is controlled by democrats. DC police did it to ‘protect’ the president, a democrat. Miriam Carey has been sacrificed on the altar of political correctness.

If the president were Republican, the media would have handled it differently. They would be promoting the mantra “Bush had a Black woman killed.” “Bush is a racist.” Etc.

Key question: are the ROE in Afghanistan more restrictive than in DC?

If this had happened outside Washington DC, Barack Obama would said: “The police acted stupidly”.

I think the answer to that question is obvious.

That is true, a car can be used as a weapon, which includes bombs.

I’ll guess several of the police “assassins” were also Black.
