In this present American political environment, with portions of States actually pursuing to secede from the other portions of those States, I ask:

1. How long in time might it be before it comes to pass, for a State, in it’s entirety, to pursue the same course of action?

2. Should that moment in time come before this nation, to follow the notion further, how much time would elapse, before there would be a State(s) Secession Convention, again?

3. Would people remember that from the time of the last ‘Convention’, it was only a few short weeks that passed, when the ‘Secessionists’ physically attacked a ‘Federal’ military installation?

This whole business ... I understand it, yet it bothers me to my innards, because this is NOT the America I fought for!

I understand, but when the America you fought for becomes the America that fights you, what are your choices?

I think it’s coming pretty soon. Serious talk and possibly action within 5 years.

“2. Should that moment in time come before this nation, to follow the notion further, how much time would elapse, before there would be a State(s) Secession Convention, again?”

Shortly thereafter. The electoral math would force it. Let’s take the example of Texas. If Texas seceded, it would take 38 electoral college seats with it. That would effectively make it near impossible for a conservative political candidate to ever win the Presidency in what remains. The writing would be on the wall for the remaining conservative states: secede or accept permanent political disenfranchisement at the Federal level.

“3. Would people remember that from the time of the last ‘Convention’, it was only a few short weeks that passed, when the ‘Secessionists’ physically attacked a ‘Federal’ military installation?”

I find it more likely that the other side simply moves in with force to put down an insurrection. And a lot of Americans die.

Amen. I’m anti-secession. I just don’t see it having a happy ending.
