Just 51,000 people completed Obamacare applications during the first week the Healthcare.gov website was online, according to two sources inside the Department of Health and Human Services who gave MailOnline an exclusive look at the earliest enrollment numbers.
The career civil servants, who process data inside the agency, confirmed independently that just 6,200 Americans applied for health insurance through the problem-plagued website on October 1, the day it first opened to the public.

“The Congressional Budget Office says Obamacare needs at least 7 million customers to stay afloat financially”
all the irs needs now is to lean on/threaten those in the 20’s to sign up or else, and problem solved..
How many are reporters?
I get the feeling a lot of people are seeing the price tags on the exchanges, thought they were getting free or reduced costs, and just walking away.
They won’t be back, either.
This should keep the NSA employed, working to find the traitorous leaks.
The cost is a driver yes, but I believe a total FEAR of one’s personal data getting compromised is just as strong.
Hey, but they went far enough into the process for the Feds to know who they are. Haha!!
The list, Ping
Let me know if you would like to be on or off the ping list
UK reporters have sources on the inside but the American media doesn’t? LOL!!! How embarrassing!
Only 99.985% of the population to go....
But at least 143 people (criminal illegals) signed up.
MSM silence is nothing short of deliberate.
That low? I would think out of over 300 million people you could get more than that to be part of experimental tests where they eat rat poison, just for the sheer novelty of it.
This is just awesome, if it can be verified as true.
By my math, at this rate, the nation will be completely enrolled in 128 years.
How does the funding work? Isn’t it the insurers who are going to take it in the shorts if not enough people sign up? The people actually signing up are more likely to be all the ones with severe health problems who maybe couldn’t get good or cheap insurance before. Isn’t it the insurers who need the young, healthy people to sign up to defray the costs of coverage for the sick ones?
I thought the Obamacare subsidies were funded through the individual mandate tax, medical device tax and other taxes which all take place even if no one signs up.
.... I wonder how many of these new signees are fake Twitter followers of the President and Vice President?
5.56mm
No wonder they didn’t want to quote any numbers yet.
Who in their right mind would give out all that personal info online even if the site was.secure. This is nuts!
How many are fake accounts? (Half of obamas followers on Twitter were proven to be fake accounts)
Well 85% of us already had insurance, which is why any large government program like Obamacare was always going to be a wasted effort.
Not accounting for new population growth, that is.
I guess we’ll need a whole lot more prisons to accommodate the violators.
The 7 million number is bogus. What if most of that number get free healthcare and everyone else opts out?
I don't know whether I'm going to be required to register on that site to prove my insurance status, or if it's going to be part of my next 1040. Or something all together different - maybe they'll come to my door and "interview" me with a menacing glare.
Gee! I guess we’ll just have to go to a single provider to make this work.
51,000 scammed in a week, that’s not bad, scammers everywhere are encouraged.
They wont be back, either.
Au contraire, my friend. Once you enter your data, there's no erasing it. You may not come back, but you will pay.

Relax. By my estimate, at 51,000 signups per week, it'll only take 113 years to register the US population.
Nonsense. Even if they only get 50,000, our overlords in DC will just raise taxes to cover whatever is needed. And if the People are too broke to pay those taxes, the Fed will just buy the debt with more money.
Remember, there is no failed government program that can't be kept alive forever just by throwing more money at it.
Well, the obvious solution is a single payer system. Wait for it...
And how many of those 51,000 will actually be writing a check for their health insurance?
How mny are there to compare prices and programs ?
How many are unique visitors ?
Many people said that they could progress just so far , and then the software would just shut down , and boot them
and how many were like Hannity , and made multiple unsuccessful attempts to even get in ..
only to find a 404 ?
Completing an application isn’t the same thing as enrolling. You have to apply to even see the rates.
UK paper, eh?
Some one leaked the info to them, it is unverifiable. Wonder what other info had been leaked, could be leaked....
"If you're not doing anything wrong, you've got nothing to worry about..."
(in a sneering condescending Leftist voice)
Yes, I've really had that said to me...
These are probably Americans by the name of ‘Chad’. LOL
“The Congressional Budget Office says Obamacare needs at least 7 million customers to stay afloat financially”
We’ve got through all this crap for just 7 million people?
The UK DailyMail reports more facts in one story than the NY Times, CNN, MSNBC, etc. do in a month.
The cost is a driver yes, but I believe a total FEAR of ones personal data getting compromised is just as strong.
Also, from what I understand you need to give your data before you see the plans.
Where else do you need to do that before you can purchase a product ?
The excuse of “ well we need to determine what level of subsidy you are eligible for “ doesn’t fly......
MSM silence is nothing short of deliberate.
Can ‘t embarrass the King, while he’s lecturing us on financial matters like running the govt, and needing more money.
Someone should start an ad campaign warning people about signing up. :-)
Even the 51,000 number is an overstatement because the exchanges require people to fill out an application just to shop for and price the available policies. Thus, the big question is not how many people fill out an application to go shopping, but how many people actaully pried open their wallet and purchased a policy through the exchanges.
It just goes to show that there are some running this health care signup, who can be bribed for the right amount of money. Just the kind of people we want watching over our health care, right?
In order to make 7 million enrollees in 180 days, the system needs to see a minimum of 38K a DAY enrolling.
teeeeheeeeheee,,the system can’t handle 38k a day! Even IF the interest was there. No wonder Sebellius was begging donors to help.
This is so sweeeeet!
Of course, people will be dying off at a much faster rate than in recent years.
About 99 out of 100 applications are being rejected for insufficient data/info:
