Just 51,000 people completed Obamacare applications during the first week the Healthcare.gov website was online, according to two sources inside the Department of Health and Human Services who gave MailOnline an exclusive look at the earliest enrollment numbers.

The career civil servants, who process data inside the agency, confirmed independently that just 6,200 Americans applied for health insurance through the problem-plagued website on October 1, the day it first opened to the public.

We are in the middle of this mess in order to get one person in 50 to buy something that most don't want unless it is free.

Quote of the day.

Wanna bet most of those 50,000 people have AIDS and only bothered to sign up so others would have to pay for their bad decisions?

Mark Levin said the 51,000 was successful accounts created and entered, not sign ups.

Most people are ignorant sadly, they watch their local evening news and think they are informed.

I know many who are friends but trying to get them to see what is happening is a lost cause .

Stood in line many times and said wow the prices are getting high or said about gas how high it was and how low it was 5 years ago and the sheep just nod with a black expression.

It pisses me off to not end knowing these people have no idea about fast and furious , Libya, Egypt , IRS, Holder etc.

The Dem party only gets power from the ignorant and lazy.

I would have thought that these people would be embarrassed by their ignorance .

Navigators do have a background check done on them to get hired. And they will help people get an account and enroll while sitting there with those applying (in home or in an office).

Websites are secure, but apparently slow as molasses right now. I’m not surprised so few have actually signed up for an account. Probably even very few have been able to see the plans and choose one, if they get that far through the website.

According to the healthcare websites, people can apply either online, by mail, by phone, or with the help of a Navigator. Lots of folks don’t like giving out personal info that is being asked for, and I don’t blame them. Most likely, with the IRS and Soc. Security databases, the government has all this info on people already.

MailOnline's sources are two Health and Human Services workers who have access to the data as it's crunched

This should keep the NSA employed, working to find the traitorous leaks.

Ha....probably why the main NSA computer center in Utah blew a gasket.

My theory is that at least 20% of the sign ups are with various combinations of Obama's names / social security numbers / birth dates / addresses / etc......snicker

That's why the main NSA computer in Utah recently blew a gasket......trying to pin point the jokers......more snicker

The cost is a driver yes, but I believe a total FEAR of one’s personal data getting compromised is just as strong.

Exactly! Question, do you mean data getting compromised by a third party outside of the federal government such as hackers?

The reason why I ask is that I would be most reluctant to give my data to them after the IRS scandal of targeting political foes and the NSA espionage scandal on Americans who do not have the same political beliefs as this current administration.

Do I get a free Obamaphone if I sigh up?

How about “govmint cheese”, and “free tuition”, and free “gas”?

I lost my crack pipe? Can you get me a new one too?

I love this country!

That is the thing, where is the LONE person who has actually purchased insurance and how much has that insurance cost that invisible person? I haven’t seen any news outlet anywhere touting that invisible person. Obama and the liberals would have that person on every mainstream media evening news, talking about how Obamacare has saved his or her life.

Our country is going downhill so fast, the internet is just full of vulgar comments and threats and the media is in the pocket of Obama.

The “single payer system” is my thought as well. This is all just a joke. We’ll be seeing this exchange fall by the end of the year.

Only “hundreds” have been able to sign up for a health care plan at the Obamacare websites. The Wall Street Journal reported:

Okay now we will try the landline # 1-800-318-2596 listed above or 1-800-318-2596 = 1-800-FAU-CKYO.

I don’t think I could ever fill out gov’t application online. It’s just ingrained in me to be careful what I put online. I just could not do it.
