Sen McCain: Sorry About That Whole “Wacko Birds” Deal, Guys:Apologizes Calling Tea Party "Wackos"
Daily Caller ^ | October 10, 2013 | Jim Treacher

Posted on 10/10/2013 8:14:21 PM PDT by lbryce

Sen. John McCain said Thursday that he’s worried about the Republican Party’s future and the infighting that is dividing it, calling efforts by conservatives to unseat incumbent Republican lawmakers “wrong.”

The famously wry McCain, R-Ariz., said he regretted calling the Tea Party wing of the Republican Senate conference “wacko birds” during budget negotiations, saying he’s learned to “never get personal” in political disputes…

“I do worry about the Republican Party,” he said at the Hero Summit hosted by The Daily Beast. “It’s the first time I have ever seen Republican senators running ads, raising money that is being used to attack incumbent Republican senators.”

Noting that Republican Sen. Pat Roberts of Kansas recently drew a challenger from the Right, McCain asked, “Where has Pat Roberts offended anybody?”

Since when was a seat in Congress a lifetime appointment? Since when is inoffensiveness a reason to vote for somebody? Since when is John McCain in charge of who should and shouldn’t run for public office?

But don’t worry about the “wacko birds” thing, senator. When you said that, we all just considered the source. And then we shook our heads that we were ever forced by circumstances to vote for him.

Senator, I don’t disrespect you for your juvenile name-calling, as I expect it from all of my liberal friends as their first line of argument.

I disrespect you for your political views, your inability to state a set of core conservative values, and your willingness to prostitute yourself for the sake of your own power and aggrandizement.

Your votes show that you do not respect the individual rights of the people, and the personal freedom that was once unique to America.

By the say, don’t tell me you care because you served in the military. You have gone against any positive inference to be drawn by your service by the sale of your soul.

Please retire on the taxpayer’s dime and tell yourself of your greatness.

I haven’t read all the replies to this post, so if mine duplicates someone elses - then I apologize for that. McCain is back peddling because his buddy, LG (Gramnesty) has a serous challenger for his Senate seat. He sure doesn’t want to lose his buddy and friend - shades of Feingold.

I don’t feel sorry for him but I am embarrassed by his actions and embarrassed for him. He should never have run for office last time and just quietly faded away into the sunset keeping his image intact. Some people age well but McCain has become a mean, angry, nasty, cantankerous old fool whose time in the spotlight is past as is his ability to act rationally.

These things happen.
I think they hurt him in that tiger cage and they warped his brain in DC.

McCain, isn’t he the guy who screwed up Sarah Palin’s chances of becoming vice-president?

As I have said from the beginning, Ted Cruz does not have Potomac Fever YET.

So far he is excellent.

John McCain is a U.S. senator from my home state. I voted for JD. I will contribute to any group or body who wants to recall both McCain and Flake. I’m sick of both of them.

Isn’t that the truth. Or, at least call him out as the conservative agitator that he is. Running with him in the first place was a ticket to a train wreck, but his endless insults deserve a dart in the nether regions. When he insults us, he insults her, again.

Her debts to him were paid a long time ago.

Elected federal officials are not subject to recall -- per the Constitution. They must be impeached (the President), expelled (Senators and Congressmen) or defeated.

“While I respect Mister McCain's military service...”
______________________________________________________

You know, with all due respect, I'm beyond sick and tired of people prefacing any negative comments about McCain with the tired and worn out: “I respect his military service...blah, blah...blah...”

Fu*k John McCain's military service! How do you like that? This A$$hole had his name on a law that took away other American’s rights to free speech! I could give a rats A$$ about his military service! He's a back stabbing, anti Constitution POS!

You want to praise his military service...you go right ahead; I NO LONGER FEEL THE OBLIGATION!

I’m pretty much there with you. Endurance is on his record, but character has always been elusive to the man. He is lost in wealth and the power of seniority.

There were finer men and finer soldiers, but they just didn’t get captured, which became McCain’s only claim to fame. He rode it well and then paid voters back in more shenanigans, similar to his brat history before he ever joined up, and after he joined up, culminating with the Keating Five as a sitting senator.

Palin was not enough to make some of us vote for the consistent betrayer of reason and party.. Thankfully Barr was on the ballot.

McCain needs to take a long nap, like ten to twenty years and then get out. He has had his time in the senate. Time for him to go and rest his neck.
