Top IRS ObamaCare Official Advised WH on Groups Challenging Contraception Mandate
Big Government ^ | 10/11/2013 | DR. SUSAN BERRY

Emails released Wednesday revealed that Sarah Hall Ingram, the IRS’ top ObamaCare official, advised White House executive staff on legal challenges from groups claiming the HHS contraception mandate violated their religious freedom. Redactions in the emails indicate they contained confidential taxpayer information.

Prior to heading the IRS office in charge of implementing ObamaCare, Ingram directed the office responsible for overseeing tax-exempt nonprofit groups, the same office that has been accused of targeting conservative, pro-life, and Tea Party groups.

The Washington Free Beacon reported that the emails, which were released by the Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, demonstrate that Ingram and others at the IRS violated the agency’s role as an impartial administrator of the tax code by counseling the White House about an issue that is both political and controversial.

Currently, there are 73 cases and over 200 plaintiffs that represent church organizations, hospitals, universities, businesses, schools, and individuals who have filed lawsuits against HHS based on the claim that the contraception mandate is unconstitutional and infringes upon religious liberty.

Several names and blocks of text are redacted in the emails, with notations citing section 6103 of the IRS Code that prohibits the release of tax return information by IRS agents.

In emails sent July 20, 2012 from White House official Jeanne Lambrew to Ingram and White House health policy advisor Ellen Montz, and copied to Health Care Counsel at IRS Catherine Livingston and IRS Manager in Exempt Organizations David Fish, Lambrew wrote:

Watergate:

Butterfield was asked the direct question by the minority (Republican) counsel, Donald Sanders. He told the staff members that “everything was taped ... as long as the President was in attendance. There was not so much as a hint that something should not be taped.”[3] All present recognized the significance of this disclosure, and Butterfield was hastily put before the full Committee on July 16 to put the taping system on the record. Chief Minority Counsel, Fred Thompson, notably asked “Mr. Butterfield, are you aware of the installation of any listening devices in the Oval Office of the president?”

This is almost as significant as Butterfield’s testimony.

Nixon was never impeached. He had the decency to resign before it got to that.

We have come a long way since 74. In those days we took what looked like a simple burglary and since some of players had ties to the CIA and whitehouse we assumed it led right to the President. That course led to a charge of obstruction. The charge was foisted upon Nixon.

Today we have a band of whitehouse personnel involved in tax info abuse, malfeasance in Benghazi, running guns, removing IGs, lying to the public, withholding evidence, interference with whistleblowers etc but we don’t begin any investigation to determine whether the president was involved. This course assures there will be no charges.

Amen Brother, but of course we all know it won’t happen.

We no longer have a Free Government. We are no longer a Free people. We are now run by the Government.

One day enough of us will be fed up to change it back.

It is the Republican's responsibility to put this into a narrative that people can understand.

What we have here is proof that the White House is using the IRS as a bludgeon to destroy religious liberty as well as free expression.

To thwart political opposition and control elections.

And obamacare is the blunt end w/ which he can take out all of his "enemies".

Issa should be front and center on the CR debate inasmuch as this ties the IRS w/ Obamacare and the abuse of power inherent in allowing the IRS such discretion.

I believe Issa now has enough hard evidence to bring forward articles of Impeachment--but they need to get the narrative sharp to penetrate the press's praetorian guard around the imperious White House.

Actually, this should give every Republican and Tea Party person pause to consider their very lives are now in the hands of these ...evils.

0bamacare is the new gas chamber of the left.

One of the primary reasons that the left wants universal government healthcare is the ability to allow or deny healthcare based on ideology.

They will deny healthcare to their ideological enemies.

Jay Sekulow and Beck talk about the death benefits issue and then around 2:42 minutes into it they discuss the IRS and sharing of taxpayer information with the White House.

4:30
Beck: Does anyone go to jail on this?

Sekulow:
I think so. It will be interesting if Lois Lerner is given immunity here and if she is given immunity it will be for the purpose of getting information that goes higher up. She would have to make [ inaudible]. Frankly, I am not opposed to her (Lois Lerner) getting immunity because this is higher than Lois Lerner.

Ingram, who testified yesterday was her superior. Imagine this – the head of the tax exempt division is now over Obamacare enforcement. That should be a chilling thought for anybody who that’s concerned about confidentiality or privacy of records.
And you’ve got intergovernmental sharing to political offices. This is really unheard of. I think this dwarfs anything we have seen in our lifetime as far as direct violations of the law ongoing by a government agency.

This is a clear sign that they would have no qualms about sharing information in both directions. Someday some poor sap is going to tell his doctor that he’s feeling sick from too much caviar and cognac on a recent cruise, and the IRS will come knocking on the door wanting to know how he could afford such an expensive weekend. It’s coming. Mark my words.

Yup... I’ve been thinking, why the khell aren’t we marching with pitchforks and torches around IRS headquarters... nobody cares until they are in the crosshairs, and by then its too late. Is there no one who can lead this fight publicly?
