A group of truckers left Doswell, Virginia Friday morning to take part in the Ride for the Constitution in Washington, D.C.
They planned to join truckers from across the country slowing down traffic around the nations capital.
Virginia State Police, who beefed up patrols ahead of the planned demonstration, pulled over at least one group of truckers, according to WTOP.com.
Four commercial vehicles began driving side-by-side across all four northbound lanes of I-495 on the Inner Loop slowing traffic to 15 mph. Virginia State Police stopped the four tractor-trailers at the 53 mile marker (Fairfax County) and warned them not to impede traffic, Virginia State Police spokeswoman Corinne Geller told WTOP in a statement. No summons/ticket was issued. The tractor-trailers were then allowed to proceed on their way.
Trucker Michael Schaffner said the three-day demonstration is not a Democratic or Republican issue, it is all about preserving the Constitution.
The way Congress is doing, theyve basically throwed our Constitution in the trash,

I know a guy who says the constitution shouldn’t even be considered in this day and age. UNLESS they start praying in his son’s school. Then he’ll quote from the constitution. By the way, he’s an atheist.
He also says nothing the Founding Fathers said is relevant today.
It's called the "Rolling Roadblock".
The Virginia State Police did that all the time, back when I drove commercial. They'd stack three police cruisers door to door, and drive exactly the speed limit to stop speeding road-rage types.
Nice to see their tactics used against them...
Their Facebook page says 1800+ truckers are confirmed to participate. Good for them!
Neither is he, or anything he says.
Just practicing formation driving prior to entering the valley of death.
Nothing that a few anonymous tips to the police about his beating his wife and kids, and dealing drugs from his home won't cure.
Managing freedom through government intimidation.
So what would happen if multiple trucks just happened to run out of fuel in traffic lanes?
‘Gosh officer, I’d love to move my truck but my tanks are dry. My fuel gauge shows I gots plenty, and my trip log shows I should be good for a couple hunnert more miles...’
Another thread from earlier with some photos if anyone is interested,

If you happen to be transiting the DC area are you actually participating?
And then the officer would take a yardstick, stick it in the gas tank, see that there was fuel, and arrest the driver on the spot.
Not a good plan to BS a cop.
It would be hard to stay anonymous..those with company trucks.
In support all weekend- I made up a sign for my back window.
(putting it on the passenger back window ledge for truckers to see)
#T2SDA

If he’s a nice cop, he’ll direct traffic around the rig until a fueler arrives.
If he’s not a nice cop...
What’s the cop do when multiple truckers all report fuel thefts and unexpected empty tanks?
Arrest the all the truckers?
Good plan.
Now you have hundreds of stalled trucks AND NO DRIVERS TO MOVE THEM when they finally do get fuel.
Then he shouldn't mind if you ignore the 1st Amendment and tell him to STFU.
Ah, but Barney Fife the Wonder-cop doesn’t think that far ahead, does he?
My back window sign is a Gadsen - #T2SDA - US Flag. . .
Even better.
mine shows calvin pissing on obama.
Four trucks is all they got? Disappointing. Very disappointing.
Ask him if he knows what he’ll be paying for health insurance in 2014. Then laugh uproariously in his face.
I wonder how many truckers listen to Rush?
I’d bet it’s a lot.
The traffic report on the radio after the 10:00 news this morning said there were way more than 4 trucks
they said estimates were as high as 11 trucks.
This happens all the time in Missouri, except the hiways I travel have mostly two lanes per each side, so it only takes 2 trucks to block the traffic.
They do this when a faster truck catches up to a slower truck, then as they go up the hill, the faster one gets bogged down. Par for the course.
Police officials in Maryland and Virginia reported there were no major incidents related to 30 trucks protesting on busy roadways in the rain.

so far, not a huge turn out of truck drivers to DC.
I was afraid of that. Ross Perot was going to get millions of signatures on petitions demanding Clinton resign and load them into a convoy of 18 wheelers. It never happened. I think he may have gotten enough to fill a small U-Haul trailer.
All 1800+ will soon get audited by the IRS. You watch. It’ll happen with the current White House. BHO stoops lower and lower every day!

Hey Washington DC. Those American truckers own Washington DC; not the other way around.
IMO, listening to Rush is actually a pain in the butt when driving. He's not on satellite radio. I covered everything east of I35 when I was driving. That's a lot of country and a lot of radio stations to keep track of in order to listen to Rush. If I was parked loading/unloading, then I would make the effort to find Rush on the AM dial, but not while driving.
Over the road truck driving is an awful job. I typically went out for 2-4 weeks at a time, and I was often only home long enough for my 34 hr restart before going back out.
Anyone with the ability to get a better job, probably will. The people who do this long term are usually not academically gifted. They are mostly the top 40/classic rock types rather than talk radio listeners.
Good answer, thanks.
A more effective tool would be a truckers strike. Deliver no goods for one week just to start. This technique is a guaranteed show stopper.

Ask him what the cutoff is on relevance of past words and actions, 150 years, 100 years, 15 years, 15 months, 15 minutes? Then tell him he is a revolving fool, when he asks what that means tell him he is a fool no matter which way he turns.
