A month before the nation marks the 50th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy's assassination, a new photo book put together by Caroline Kennedy tells the story of her remarkable family through the eyes of her indomitable grandmother.

Rose Kennedy's Family Album, which went on sale Tuesday, features a trove of 300 images - many of them never made public before - taken between 1878 and 1946, when John F. Kennedy won the Democratic nomination during his first run for Congress.

The photo history of the Kennedy clan told from the perspective of the spirited matriarch, Rose Kennedy, covers everything from the family's first home to beach vacations, children's birthdays to first Communions.

The reckless nature of JFK's womanizing makes an interesting study. He was a new president but he did not slow down one iota or become careful in choosing the best sort of mistresses who would not kiss and tell.

Unforgetable: The day after Ted Kennedy left Mary Joe to die in his car, the Boston Globe ran a front-page, full color photo of Ted giving Rose a huge arrangement of flowers on the front porch of their Cape plantation. Not a word of his murdering the young girl.

The Kennedys aren’t much of a dynasty, the Bushes are truly a dynasty.

The Bushes are in a whole different ball game, two independently elected Governors of two different major states, two presidents, and real presidential and Governor possibilities in the future.

The Kennedy thing is done inside of a small bubble fed by the media and limited geography and is pretty much a one term president, a family state, and a family senate seat.

John Kennedy’s true love was Ann Marie Kinney. She met him when he was a senator. The father, Joseph Kennedy, would not let them marry as she was from Sweden, not an American citizen. They stayed connected from that time forward and they talked to each other the day before he was assassinated. Ann Marie stayed friends with Rosemary Lincoln, Kennedy’s secretary, and Rosemary is the one who called Ann Marie immediately after he was assassinated.

I know these things because Ann Marie was my friend so I know the history of that relationship. I have kept silent about this until the principles are no longer alive. The only one left is Caroline and I doubt she ever knew this.
