GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) - A contracted Grand Rapids Public Schools cafeteria worker is out of a job after admitting she hired two fourth-graders to beat up a fellow student.
For everyone, it's one of those head-scratchers -- a just-when-you-think-you've-heard-it-all story.
"I didn't believe it. Who would believe something like that?" said the mother of the intended target, who 24 Hour News 8 is not identifying.
But when the principal of Campus Elementary School knocked on her door Monday night, he confirmed it.
The 9-year-old intended victim, also a fourth-grader, said something he shouldn't have to the woman. The school's investigation revealed the worker gave two other fourth-graders a total of $1 and told them to beat him up.
"To think that there's an adult that can be so like twisted to sit there and watch a little boy -- a little 9-year-old boy -- get beat up, and get enjoyment out of it," said the victim's mother.
Word got back to school administrators and the cafeteria worker got sent to the principal's office.
She admitted to everything and was fired.
And the mom says her son did get roughed up.
"We're still investigating that. That's not something I've received a report on. That doesn't mean it did or didn't happen," GRPS spokesman John Helmholdt said.
He was as surprised as anyone about the incident....

What a sick world we live in.
Glad she’s away from the kids. On the other hand, the principal and the intended victim’s parents should have given him a memorable whoopin.
The kids blew it. They could have blackmailed her and extorted money every week to keep the hit quiet.

"Not only is other kids picking on him, but the worse thing I'm telling is that could happen to him is being done by an adult," she said.

yeah, given the situation, not bad. if she went to the school powers about this, nothing of consequence would have been done to the kid, the kid learns he gets away with this and would have tortured that woman as long as he was in that school. if you are honest you know that’s what would have happened. i honestly don’t have a problem with it. too many kids in public schools bully adults because they’ll scream if adults do anything to them, they know they care untouchable and the punishments are nothing. we’re raising a bunch of little sadistic terrorizers, who up until 18 get away with being the worst little a$$holes to everyone around them.

My brother went to Campus Elementary back when it was a brand new school, and was the place parents WANTED their kids to go because it was the closest thing you got to the more posh schools in East Grand Rapids in that part of town. Nice teachers, well-behaved kids, and beautiful buildings. Not to mention that the nearest alternatives were ghetto as all get out.
And what makes it even more embarrassing to the school system is that the school in right next door to the public screw HQ!
1. Some kids need to smacked.
2. Our Rulers have made it illegal for adults to physically discipline kids. The kids know this and act accordingly - like little bastards. Modern schools are Alice in Wonderland environments were up is down, wrong is right, and little kids are in a superior position over adult teachers.

1. Determine guilt of the cafeteria worker and, if guilty, terminate her for inappropriate behavior.
2. Determine guilt of child for inappropriate remark, and, if guilty, paddle him.
3. Call parents in and ask them to severely admonish the child right there not to EVER say something like that to anyone in authority at school ever again. If they mouth even the slightest protest or refuse, have them taken outside, strapped up on a board, and caned. Publish a notice in the paper that the same will happen to anyone who commits the same offense.
If someone had the backbone to do what was right, a lot of these problems would disappear overnight.
Makes one wonder many, many things.
The story doesn’t tell what this kid did to this hitlady.
Was he mouthing off to her??? shortchanging her??? stealing extra fries??? what was it???
Seriesly. For a dollar? What happened to the value of thuggery in Michigan?
When I was growing up in Albion, I would have took the dollar, done the deed and then extorted a dollar/day from the lunch lady for the rest of the year.

When I was in eighth grade, our teacher decided he didn’t like one of the girls in our class. I don’t even remember why. But one day when she wasn’t in the classroom, he stood in front of the class and told the rest of us to make fun of her!
When we left the classroom, there she was in the hall. A couple of boys started to halfheartedly make fun of her, and then their voices kind of trailed off. No one else joined in.
We kids were more mature than our teacher.

From experience, you wait on the assailant (ambush w/ a 2x4) after class. Know their route, check the AO for witnesses, both cover and concealment are necessary, and whack the ba$tard in the head as he (she) comes around the corner. [ A 2x4 can be handled by a child well].
The other assailant gets the message, and you aren't f'ked with again. Trust me on this one.
Oh, after one week the assailant/bully came back to school (neatly tattooed).
