There may be many nancy boys and ignorant women who would be dumb enough to accept such a disgusting viewpoint, but those will be the exception by an overwhelming margin, and that's not just an opinion from one, but evidence from historical reactions of those who inhabit this country at this point in time (as in, this isn't ancient Greece).

If that was true then a pedophile would never walk out of prison. Yet, they do. In fact it is rare for anything to happen to them.

But such criminality can be “hidden” when not a notorious crime. Those who are freed are likely (my supposition) unknown as pedophiles to the general population of a prison.
Many more straight guys are quite prepared to sacrifice their freedom and/or life to eradicate such scum if their children are molested and the molester is not dealt with harshly. I know this for a fact, and no argument you can create will deter my steadfast belief in such a “truth”.
I'm old enough to remember a time when homosexuality was considered abnormal. The same rubes who said back then that gay marriage is impossible are now saying that the normalization of pedophilia is impossible.

Look up the “Town Bully” incident of 1981. A miscreant was riddled with bullets by fed up townspeople using multiple guns, his widow vowed to sue the entire town but then fled after her house burned down, the state investigated for months, but not a single charge was ever brought.

I wouldn’t necessarily say it’s “nicer”, just different. The penalty I would impose upon any pedophile would be a fate worse than death, at least for a week or so.
There is still quite a bit of bite in the justice system in Ontario. In fact I was surprised at the seeming severity of the sentence on a Minnesota man, 36 years old. Only because the man was accused of possession of child pornography though. Perhaps there was other information and not proven.
I will not quote the reporter or the name of my local paper here, they might take umbrage at being on FR (chuckle). School bus driver crossing into Canada had his laptop searched. Forensics found over 400 child porn pictures.
Charge of importation withdrawn.

A further three and a half months to be served.

The man appeared contrite and is a family man. I cannot let this item go because it ties in with the United States. A Lethbridge, Alberta man was released after serving time for molesting kids. So disturbed were the authorities that he had to wear a leg bracelet, so he could be tracked. They found the bracelet cut off recently and an all points bulletin was out for this man.
He crossed over into the States at Blaine, Washington. The police say he cannot be arrested in the U.S., because he has not committed a crime there. I am sure that the matter will not be let go that easily in the U.S. The authorites have contacted their U.S. counterparts.
