Watch Live: ‘Help Fix Up D.C.’ Event
The Blaze ^ | October 11, 2013

Posted on 10/12/2013 7:37:51 AM PDT by don-o

Inspired by Chris Cox, a South Carolina native who has been cleaning up the National Mall amid the partial government shutdown — mowing the lawns, taking out the trash, and keeping it from falling into a disgraceful state — Beck told his listeners on Friday: “This is not a political rally, this is a workday … Grab your garbage bags and let’s go. And we’ll just help this guy keep the Mall clean.”

Beck is scheduled to speak at the event at 10:45, directly following Senator Mike Lee (R-Utah). But Beck explained on radio Friday that the speeches will be brief, and the purpose of the event is to come out and serve with your family and friends.

You can watch a livestream of the proceedings below, courtesy of the Tea Party Patriots:

Grab your garbage bags and let’s go.

Does Hefty sell Capitol or White House size bags?

Beck says hundreds which isn't bad for a little publicized event.

Thanks!

I’ve been looking for a live thread for the Truckers - haven’t found one yet.
Here’s there site: http://ridefortheconstitution.org/

Also, a lot of Vets supposed to be in DC tomorrow and possibly more bikers. God Bless them all and keep them safe.

This is what welfare recipients all over the country should be doing. Clean up their towns and cities. At least 4 hours a day, or no more welfare checks.

I’d go further on that.

I’d cut all welfare benefits to bare minimum survival levels and incentivize it by letting them earn extra benefits for doing community service. All the while crew leaders could talk about pride and earning while pointing out that freedom from the system can only be found in a regular full time job in the private sector.

In effect, make it a true welfare to work system instead of the incentivized laziness system that it is now.

I’d add no one under 18 can get their own checks, apartments, food stamps, medical care even if they have a kid. They would be the responsibility of their own parents. Actually, going forward, I’d like to cut all welfare off - ever- when you turn 18, starting with those born in 1996 or later. It wouldn’t take long for the illegitimacy rate to fall, if there was no money it.

‘Help Fix Up D.C.’ Event or Value Voters summit? It was the Value Voters summit. That was where I saw Glenn beck speak. Ted Cruz won the poll. I hardly even kept up with this event.

I got confused. it has become a biog pile of confusion. Thanks people.
1. The Value Voter Summit was this weekend and Glenn Beck spoke there.
2. The Help Fix D.C> event was a different event staged today.
3. The Truckers are in D.C. supposedly to shut it down. Then some veterans group joined in protests and they went to the WWII memorial yesterday and delivered a set of demands.
4. The congressmen are dealing with a shutdown, budget in pass and other issues so our Congress people keep trotting out to make pressers. The moment Glenn Beck was speaking at the Value Voters Summit, Harry Reid held a presser where he announced rejection of Sen, Susan Collin’s plan.
5. Then if that is not enough, that radio Guy Mark Levin has his Article V stuff out there. I understand some states are debating it. All I know is someone called up wanting to discuss this on The Morning Blaze Show with Doc Thompson last week. They said Georgia had a bill being discussed in the state congress. Ok then. I haven’t been following.
