Reset: New round of talks begin after negotiations collapse

As the government shutdown entered its 12th day, the best lawmakers on Capitol Hill could say on Saturday is that they’ve started talking — again.....

....Mr. Reid has rejected every request Republicans have made, including most recently a proposal circulated by Sen. Susan Collins, Maine Republican, that would have repealed a despised Obamacare tax and given the White House more flexibility to manage the sequesters, in return for opening up the government and passing a debt increase........

House Republicans and the White House had both said they were making progress over the previous two days, saying that they had cleared the air and that the GOP was working to see if it could find an offer Mr. Obama could accept.

But by Saturday morning Republicans were accusing the White House of negotiating in bad faith, and Mr. Reid declared the White House talks dead.

“That’s over with. It’s done. They’re not talking anymore,” Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid said as he opened his chamber.

"Negotiations"? What negotiations?

The Zero King himself said he will not negotiate. The Repubs need to stop trying to "talk" to the Petulant Tyrant and just keep sending funding bills to the Senate (minus ZeroCare) and tell the media, talk shows, town halls, etc. thet they keep sending funding bills to the Senate but they are under instructions from Obama to call them DOA.

Put the pressure on the Dems for once.

“...................But the story that no one is writing. or taking polls about, is red state Democrats. They are the ones who will actually be asking voters to reelect them. They will have to explain their votes for ObamaCare!

Where are all of these red state Democrats? What Sunday shows are they doing this week? Which one is defending ObamaCare along with Senator Reid or Senator Schumer? Which one is scheduling President Obama for a trip promothing ObamaCare?

They are not on TV defending their vote for ObamaCare or taking questions at candidate meeings in Arkansas, Alaska and so on.

They are hiding in their offices and avoiding Obama like a plague.

That’s your story or poll if anyone in the media really wants to find out wherre public opinion is going.”

Now that the Republicans are bidding against themselves, total capitulation isn’t far off.

Well, given a choice between negotiation amongst themselves and not negotiating at all, I vote for the second choice, no negotiations.

I will say the house should decide what they want to do, sans giving the jerk what he wants, send it over to the Senate and put out as many press releases they have done their job and constitutionally it is up to the Senate to agree to a bill before it goes to el jerk. Make it plain and simple, the senate is the obsticle, not the house. If smug Reid rewrites it to suit himself, fine. Go to conference and blow smoke rings at the senate conf members.

In this way they follow the constitution. Going to el jerk and negotiating is ridicules, Reid is cut out and eventually he gets his way later which is to deliver exactly what el jerk wanted in the first place. Meanwhile, just keep sending forward individual spending bills.

Screw that!

Make the boy-king wannabe sweat out the shutdown of "his" government. The "news" media make it out to look like he's sitting up in his ivory tower waiting for the little people to come to him with something he likes.

Imagine how the "news" media would treat a Repub Prez if he just sat waiting for Congress to do what he wanted! The Zero King needs to let the American people know what he demands so they can see the difference in the two sides. Right now, it's all mushed in smoke and mirrors, thanks in part to the "news" media.

"President Obama used his weekly radio address to reject the latest offer from House Republicans to end the fiscal stalemate. The outline of their proposal was released Friday and would have reopened government through December and lifted the debt ceiling for six weeks.

"It wouldn’t be wise, as some suggest, to just kick the debt ceiling can down the road for a couple months, and flirt with a first-ever intentional default right in the middle of the holiday shopping season," Obama said in his address.

"Because damage to America’s sterling credit rating wouldn’t just cause global markets to go haywire; it would become more expensive for everyone in America to borrow money," Obama continued. "Students paying for college. Newlyweds buying a home,"....BreitBart

No, this ass is infering it would be better to kick the debt load further down the road right through the next election.

BTW, the accompanying picture seems to show an alien in our midst, probably from the planet Uranus.

I'm 100% in favor of pushing this to a Constitutional Crisis. Spending originates in the House. The House will fund everything in government, except Obamacare. That tells me that we have a budget, government can re-open, and Obamacare is dead, dead, dead. Hold that line.

There is no need to talk. Obama can overthrow our entire system of government or he can surrender the point and give us a full victory.

I see no reason to accept any half-measure.

Obama has taken us to the brink and he’s hoping this will push everything over the cliff. Then he and his cronies/media/operatives will fan out and pin the wreckage he’s wanted for so long (pay this country back for it’s “sins”) on the conservatives (Cruz/TeaParty).
