MD's Obamacare health exchange hit with problems-"Once you get beyond slick-looking front page.."
Baltimore Sun ^ | October 12, 2013 | Meredith Cohn

.....The Maryland Health Connection enrolled just more than 1,120 people in the first 10 days — compared with more than 9,000 in Kentucky, which has fewer uninsured, and tens of thousands in California and New York.

Other states have had similar problems, and the federal site, which serves 36 states, has been bogged down. But Maryland is now being targeted for criticism by conservatives on Capitol Hill and publications such as the Weekly Standard, which highlighted the fact that consumers could not search Maryland Health Connection to see if their doctors participate in the program.

Some Obamacare supporters are also expressing frustration about the balky website.

"Once you get beyond the slick-looking front page, it looks like something a college kid may have put together in an afternoon. It's rife with weird programming, verification errors and dead ends," said Jim Fortney of Silver Spring, who has built some small websites himself and says he supports the health care program. He has been trying to enroll himself and his 12-year-old son on the Maryland site.

Maryland officials have downplayed the troubles related to the Maryland Health Connection's online portal. They say initial problems — some created by high demand — are fixed and others, such as slow movement between pages on the site, are being addressed.

Still, Gov. Martin O'Malley said some problems are likely to continue in Maryland, which has about 800,000 uninsured residents. "My sense of it is, probably for the next month or so, month and a half, we will be working out glitches in the portal," he told reporters Friday...................

My sense is that it couldn’t be this balled up unless by design.

You can’t find out if you can keep your doctor (on purpose).

You can’t find out the costs (on purpose).

You can’t find what your subsidy is (on purpose).

Hello!? O

I would never log into a lucifercare site for any reason, so I have to rely on what I read and hear .... mostly read.

I find it hard to believe ANYone would volunteer to be enslaved for a financial burden they can't afford.

People don't buy cars, steaks, new clothes, houses, ... whatever ... because they can't afford it.

Why would someone sign up for this .... unless there IS a 'gotcha' that some are finding is a bargain.

And in the meantime he'll funnel our money to his base (to "implement" Obamacare) so they can keep signing up more voters to the collective.

You can’t find out the information you want about cost and whether your doctor is in the state program, but the feral government has all your personal information.

What could go wrong?

Maryland is in great shape to take on 0bamascare ,, how’s a 46.8 billion dollar state debt sound ??? This is actually a very favorable thing to martin o’mally as he intends to run for president in 2016 . He is an exact replica of 0’bama himself . Spend like a drunkin sailor , borrow money to continue to spend out of control and then blame it all on some one else . I can’t stand to look at or listen to either one as they plunder our state and nation into submission .

We have enough on ZERO to put him away for a million years.
Nothing gets done about any of it.

That's because we have too much ZERO tolerance in this country, most of it created by ABC, CBS, NBC and CNN.

As a former drunken sailor, I must object to your using that term. There are two distinctions between drunken sailors and leftist politicians:

1. We were spending OUR OWN money.

2. When we ran out of money, we STOPPED SPENDING it.

Only “hundreds” have been able to sign up for a health care plan at the Obamacare websites. The Wall Street Journal reported:

Okay now we will try the landline # 1-800-318-2596 listed above or 1-800-318-2596 = 1-800-FAU-CKYO.
