Debt Ceiling: China Calls for World to Be 'De-Americanised'
International Business Times ^ | October 13, 2013 | Jijo Jacob

China's official news agency has called for the creation of a "de-Americanised world", saying the destinies of people should not be left in the hands of a hypocritical nation with a dysfunctional government.

Heaping criticism and caustic ridicule on Washington, the Xinhua news agency called the US a civilian slayer, prisoner torturer and meddler in others' affairs, and said the 'Pax Americana' was a failure on all fronts.

The official news agency of China, which is seen as the pretender to the world's superpower crown, then rubbed in more salt, calling American economic pre-eminence just a seeming dominance.

"As US politicians of both political parties are still shuffling back and forth between the White House and the Capitol Hill without striking a viable deal to bring normality to the body politic they brag about, it is perhaps a good time for the befuddled world to start considering building a de-Americanised world," the editorial said.

It asks why the self-declared protector of the world is sowing mayhem in the financial markets by failing to resolve political differences over key economic policy.

Please. What else are they going to buy? Brazilian treasuries? Nigerian corporates? Germany, Japan, the UK and the US have only so much debt.

China has no alternatives except commodities.

my thoughts exactly. This would never happen in a dictatorship and, as such, this should illustrate to oppressed peoples around the world why the American way- a government of the people, for the people, and by the people is far superior to any single party authoritarian regime that has ever been or will ever be including the present one in China which can go straight to hell as far as I’m concerned.

What else would they peg it to?

The yen (which the Japanese government has said it will try to devalue)?

The euro (which may not exist in a few years)?

The pound (which is as stressed as the dollar and much smaller in terms of volume)?

And they’re buying hard assets like crazy. Particularly precious metals.

In 50 years History channel will be touting: “The Democrat Hunters” as it seems the ravages of time have shut down “The Nazi Hunters”.

The hunt for ________, led us to a remote village in Kenya, there hiding in a spidey hole was that greatest of early 21 century villains, Vanderwald Jones!

He was unshaven, unkempt, and still babbling his Marxist dribble when he was pulled from the pit kicking and screaming!

But first a message from our sponsors: :The Blaze.

Funny how, as soon as the US becomes socialist that China says we have a dysfunctional economy...

They have been doing that for a decade now.

Canada and Australia are now blocking these moves.

The US only allows noncontrolling interests.

Most other countries forbid foreign ownership outright.

Commodities have been plunging in value - except oil, and China owns the highest cost of extraction assets.

They are running out of available assets even as the market value of those assets diminishes.

Those assets rocketed in value largely because of Chinese demand - they top-ticked a declining market.

They are blocked from all of that. China could of course buy both Airbus and Boeing but they will never be allowed to. They can buy land in Africa, gold paper iou, or bonds. They are truly screwed. If the US dollar crashed their central bank would be bankrupt.

There aren’t enough precious metals out there. The gold market is mostly paper iou’s.

Dont let Chinese arrogance be confused with power.

"Well, I NEVER buy Chinese made stuff unless I absolutely need something."

You're going to need to start reading every box/can of food to see if it or any of it comes from China. We found some commie pumpkin the other day.

“There aren’t enough precious metals out there. The gold market is mostly paper iou’s.”

You’re correct in noting that the gold market in the west is mostly IOU’s. It isn’t in the east. They take delivery. I’ll ping you to an article in a moment.

“Don’t let Chinese arrogance be confused with power.”

I really and truly wish it was all bluster and arrogance. Unfortunately, it isn’t. The Chinese see the writing on the wall from an economic perspective, and they’re looking to emerge the winners when things go crunch. Time will tell whether they do or not.

They are empowered because its all part of the plan. Clinton sets up China as our manufacturing shop and debt holder. Obama destroys what’s left of the economy. Then, the Chinese can, in indignant righteousness, denounce us before the whole world as lazy slackers who can’t even pay our debts.

You missed a person: Bush and the bailouts. — We wouldn't be in our position now if the banks/big-corps [and insurance agencies] had been allowed to fail instead of being deemed "too big to fail."

Well, Obama did have a large official State dinner for the Chinese government at the White House a few years back, remember the outrage that caused? Who hear want to bet that all this was planned well in advance?
