Los Angeles school district wants teachers to wear pro-gay badges

Los Angeles public schools are encouraging teachers and staff to wear badges that identify them as LGBT allies and supporters of the pro-gay movement.
Superintendent John Deasy kicked off the effort Thursday, which he said was necessary to prevent gay kids from being bullied.
We want all our youth and staff to know that it is safe to be you in LAUSD, said Deasy in a statement to the Los Angeles Times.
The move is part of the L.A. Gay and Lesbian Centers Out for Safe Schools initiative.
The front sides of the badges have the word ally written on them in several different languages, which will help teachers celebrate the fabulousness of gay students, gay fellow teachers, and other gays, whose gayness automatically merits universal applause and celebration. Allies are straight supporters of gay people and gay marriage.
The reverse sides of the badges include a handy list of resources available to gays and their supporters. The list handily includes the public-sector unions United Teachers Los Angeles, SEIU, and Associated Administrators of Los Angeles, allowing L.A.s organized labor community to rejoice in the school districts salute to gayness....

Meanwhile, Christians will be made to wear badges that identify them as targets for harassment, discrimination and, eventually, martyrdom.

I did not read the entire article, but this kind of falls into the “isn’t all crime hate crime” and is the message being sent that bullying of other groups is more tolerated? Bullying is bullying. They should be looking out for their entire student body.

Superintendent John Deasy kicked off the effort Thursday, which he said was necessary to prevent gay kids from being bullied. Just as I suspected about the anti-bullying campaign.
When I first heard about an anti-bullying campaign, I thought, "Great idea!"
But then I realized that it was only for approved protected minorities - gays, blacks, Muslims, atheists, etc. - and others could go kiss off.

In the USA you are free to say anything or believe anything you want, so long as we do not deem it a hate crime.
In the USA you are free to believe what we tell you to believe, especially since not doing so is a hate crime.
In the USA only those who believe what we want them to believe are not guilty of a hate crime.
That is because in the USA, only those who believe things other than what we believe are guilty of a hate crimes.

Well, the good Lord is forcing the issue of a general loss of love, as I now understand it.
We see maybe a foot beyond our noses now, and see the great annoyance of “gays” and buggery-indulgers in our faces.
If we could get the birds eye view, we’d see a God knocking harder and harder on our door, valentines in hand, asking why we’re faking it when we could have the real McCoy!

You’re closer than you might think. Hitler, at least, was into occult power. Power, power, more power, and he didn’t care what kind.
The same demonic lies and illusions drive this.
The answer prescribed by God with the gospel is very, very paradoxical to us. Love first, and eliminating the perpetrator only if that fails. Someone who can tell these evilly misguided souls where the true love is and what it’s like, and can do it convincingly, is needed. Even government affairs are to be secondary to the gospel.

Hey Cowboy, I think you mean “wouldn’t”...
The trouble is that they are running from an illusion of their own creation. They think everybody hates them when they actually are saying no to good love.
God doesn’t want them singing the blues like this. God wants to give them, pardon the expression cowboy, a good yeehaw again. The right way.

This is so out of control. The schools are spending too much time thinking about sex and not academics. Okay, if they want armbands to show solidarity with gays, does that mean gays are the only kind of student they care about. This is obviously playing favorites here. The average student from an average parented background is being further marginalized. Charter Schools, here they come, for the rescue.

So-called "bullying" has been around since time immemorial. Its a completely natural social self correction mechanism. Its how people are taught what the boundaries of social norms are.
This is different from people merely on power trips and like to sadistically harass and torment other people for the fun of it. That sort of bullying useful too since it teaches people how to stand up for themselves.

IF I were a teacher there, I would demand to be shown WHERE in the bargaining contract it says I must do this.
IF it is in there, I would quit & find another teaching job—perhaps in Alaska.
This is intimidation, pure & simple.
