Visa Subsidiary Cuts Ties with Nation's Largest Gun Shop
Breitbart's Big Government ^ | October 13, 2013 | AWR Hawkins

Hyatt Gun Shop states that a subsidiary of Visa shut down payments for its customers' online gun purchases, effectively cutting ties with "the nation's largest gun store," Hyatt claims, because of legal online gun sales.

Hyatt Gun Shop is located in Charlotte, NC, and owner Larry Hyatt says Authorize.net—described on its website as "a solution of Cybersource, a wholly owned subsidiary of Visa"—sent him an email saying they were ending their business relationship with his store over "the sale of firearms or any similar product."

According to the Washington Examiner, the email said "that gun sales violated a section of the service agreement signed [between Hyatt and Authorize.net] over four years ago."

Hyatt's marketing director Justin Anderson said, "We've never seen anything like this." He said that when the gun store started their relationship with the financial firm, it was only after spending weeks and thousands of dollars "to line up a 'gun friendly' credit card processor for online sales." And after believing they had secured such a processor, the rug is now being pulled out from under them.

It is important to note that online gun sales at Hyatt Gun Shop require a background check. As with any gun store that sells guns online, after an individual buys a gun from Hyatt online, that gun is sent to a Federal Firearms License (FFL) holder in the buyer's area....

Just saw a 9-1-1 show on A&E.
Its a great ad for pistols and gun ownership.
In the 2 calls they featured a hand gun saved the callers/homeowbers lives.

That’s just dumb business sense on VISA’s part.

It may also be tortuous. Constructive interference with a business.

Yeah, *management*. I wonder how it makes *shareholders* feel to throw away good business. I’d be mad if I was one.

It reminds me of some city pension fund or another that wanted to divest themselves of oil stocks because oil is evil. Doh! I wonder if anyone will remind them of THAT genius business decision when they can’t pay their retirees.

I think you mean “tortious”, although (LOL!) “tortuous” also works in a different way. :-)

I was at Hyatt’s last week buying some ammo for my EEEEEEEEVIL “assault rifle”. Paid with a VISA card. Lady at the shop told me this affects their online sales, not their in-person sales.

The liberal anti gun people never quit. The failure to quit is a major reason why the liberal has achieved almost total control over our society. The liberal cannot win over the clear statement made by the Second Amendment so the liberal shifts their attack; proposed heavy taxes, oppressive restrictions as to where one can shoot, restrictions on self defense, lawsuits claiming excessive force if one shoots someone in self defense(legal fees will break any person of modest means.) Refusal by local authorities to give permits to carry guns. Pressuring businesses to withhold doing business with shooters and people selling guns and gun carriers. I admire them they sure whipped us conservatives. Conservatives do not know what to do to combat them beyond arguing and reasoned debates doe not win in the long run i.e. the liberal if defeated will attack along other lines. Normal political means will no longer work.

The subsidiary from what I understand is Authorize.net. If so, it is a perfect opportunity for a business enterprise to capture the entire guns and ammo credit market in addition to associated sporting businesses. Authorize.net is a transaction processor and can be easily replaced. Note that VISA is not barring usage of its cards at these businesses but is using a backdoor approach.

It appears as though the fags down at a “subsidiary of Visa” have a problem with the Bill of Rights. Specifically, the Second Amendment. Well, screw them.

Obviously someone, read “the Obama administration” is leaning on the credit card companies to do this. So what is needed is to set up a pro-gun credit company, possibly as a front, to see who in the administration is applying pressure.

What is frightening about that show is that by playing the 911 call in displaced real time, you can see just how l-o-o-o-n-g it really takes for help to arrive. My wife was astounded by how long it takes. I usually answer with; “A gun would have ended the threat before the cops even hit the lights”.

And yes, she has a handgun of her own.
