After Action Report
13 October 2013



As I walked down 17th Street to the WWII Memorial I was passed by at least a dozen D.C Police cruisers and Paddy wagons. Two Secret Service cruisers were blocking vehicular access to 17th below Constitution Avenue.

I was late arriving and missed Sarah Palin, Mike Lee and Ted Cruz.

Arriving at the Memorial, I made my way to the high U.S. Flag and Gadsden Flag
held by FReeper Mr. Trooprally.

A lady at the WWII Memorial was giving out these cards to any Vets she encountered:

God Bless you, Brother! I hope you are recovering from your surgery.

As always, it was an honor to meet, speak to, and walk among real American Patriots. It was very much like sitting around the table with my extended family in my early youth at Thanksgiving or Christmas Dinner. My Dad and Uncles back home from Korea - lots of good will and patriotism. My great-grandmother's house was always heavily laden with American Flags - small flags in 5-point holders and larger flags standing upright in various positions about the property.

I will never forget those moments as long as I live.

And I know what you mean about the flags. We used to love going to grandma’s house. She had flags and WWII memorabilia all over the place. And pictorial history books of the battles. And big bibles and prayer books. Her sons and sons in law had all gone to war. They were all very involved in the war. God bless them.

Yep, Conor was a trooper Sunday. Never realized that he is a corpsman. We both had some stories about the old Bethesda Naval hospital back in the 60s.

Barricades in Washington.

I have worked in the government on and off for 40 years. During that time I became quite familiar with requisitions, bidding, awarding contracts etc. It is a time consuming process with bean-counters and pencil-necked bureaucrats every step of the way. The simplest request takes months not days or hours.

In less than 8 hours of the shutdown, miraculously, professionally printed 3X4 foot signs appeared all over the country in the tens of thousands saying this park, facility, etc. with custom logos closed due to government shutdown. There has not been a government shutdown in 17 years. These signs were designed, specifications were determined, signs were then requisitioned, bids were posted and vetted, government contracts were awarded. The materials were then ordered and the signs manufactured then distributed U.S. Mails or freight companies.

This shutdown was orchestrated and planned well in advance at least 6-8 month ago. Millions of tax dollars were appropriated and spent in this process. There is a paper trail a mile long leading directly to the White House.

Pam is the organizer of the Napa Tea Party in California where the Tea Party Express kicked off one of their nationwide rallies with a fantastic Tea Party Rally and sendoff a while back.
