Obama’s Debt Default is on His Shoulders While We Shoulder His Impeachable Offenses
Apparently the president thinks he can furlough reality when talking about the debt limit. To suggest that raising the debt limit doesn’t incur more debt is laughably absurd. The very reason why you raise the debt limit is so that you can incur more debt. Otherwise what’s the point?
It’s also shameful to see him scaremongering the markets with his talk of default. There is no way we can default if we follow the Constitution. The Fourteenth Amendment, Section 4, requires that we service our debt first. We currently collect more than enough tax revenue to service our debt if we do that first. However, we don’t have enough money to continue to finance our ever-growing federal government (with our $17 trillion dollar national debt that has increased over 50% since Obama took office). That’s why President Obama wants to increase the debt limit. He doesn’t want to make the tough decisions to rein in government spending. So, he’s scaremongering the markets about default, just as he tries to scaremonger our senior citizens about their Social Security, which, by the way, is funded by the Social Security Trust Fund and is solvent through 2038.
It’s time for the president to be honest with the American people for a change. Defaulting on our national debt is an impeachable offense, and any attempt by President Obama to unilaterally raise the debt limit without Congress is also an impeachable offense. A default would also be a shameful lack of leadership, just as mindlessly increasing our debt without trying to rein in spending is a betrayal of our children and grandchildren who will be stuck with the bill.

Sarah is on to something. Moreover, I would add that Obama has been signing these spending bills. If he knows that we must borrow money to pay for them, why did he sign them?

I can tell you what happens when we hit the legal Debt Limit! It is called INSTANT BALANCED BUDGET. No default, just an instant, relatively painless, balanced budget! It will be a BLESSING.
Thank you once again for telling the American people the truth — something our cowardly senators refuse to do — either because they themselves are ignorant of the facts, or else they are colluding with the dims.

This section of the 14th Amendment is being twisted and contorted by the Rats from its original purpose-—to take care of Civil War veterans and to destroy the credit of the former Confederate States of America, once and for all. It has nothing to do with the modern debt ceiling.
Not only did they destroy the credit of the insurrection that pretended to be a Confederacy, it also removed credit claims from the creditors of the insurrection.
The supporters of the failed insurrection used the pension clause as a loophole for states to pay pension claims to their soldiers. My understanding is some insurrection soldiers subsequently married young women who as widows collected pensions well into the 20th Century.

Palin always shows she’s smarter than Obama. But the talking points was how stupid she is and she’s not qualified to be president. The democrat “strategists” said it. The media repeated it. The REAL stupid people in this country believed it.
If only the GOP leaders would preach this same argument.....ASAP.

Anyone with a “charge” account knows what it means when the bank or other entity says, “We have increased your credit limit to $XXXX.XX!” It means, basically, “Go out and spend more, so you can make bigger payments so we can charge you more interest and have you hooked in perpetuity!”

The person thought to be the last-known Confederate widow, Alberta Martin, was born Dec, 4, 1906, and died at age 97 in Alabama on May 31, 2004. The publicity surrounding Alberta Martin’s death prompted relatives of Maudie Celia Hopkins of Arkansas to reveal that the 89-year-old was in fact the last civil war widow. Hopkins married 86-year-old William Cantrell on Feb. 2, 1934, when she was 19. She did so to escape poverty, but kept quiet about the unusual marriage, “I thought people would gossip about it.” Cantrell, who served in the Virginia Infantry, supported her with his Confederate pension of “$25 every two or three months” until his death in 1937. Hopkins has outlived three other husbands.

Nevertheless, I must say that I agree with Milton Friedman. Yes, of course, we must elect the best and the brightest. But the answer ultimately isn't in the virtues of those we are able to elect, because the political tide invariably ebbs and flows. We get a Ronald Reagan and before long we get Clintons and Bushes. The answer is the American People insisting on laws that LIMIT GOVERNMENT and make it UNPROFITABLE for politicians, good or bad, to do the wrong thing by kicking them out when they do the wrong thing, usurp their authority, and steal from the American People. And LIMITING TAXES is the ONLY WAY to cut and limit government.
This requires diligence especially in this day and age and I'm not sure the American People are up to the challenge, which is really the challenge of running the country that belongs to them. Yes, we try to elect the best and brightest, but we don't go back to sleep, but are, in Jefferson's words, "eternally vigilant" and KICK THE BUMS OUT when they start their INEVITABLE USURPATION of their Constitutional powers and encroachments on our freedoms financed by their encroachments on our money.
There's ultimately only one language politicians understand and that's the DEMONSTRATED threat of being thrown out on their ear for power & money grabbing. This comports with the reality that there will always be crooked politicians, but their harm will be minimized. In that sense, the American People, more than the Sarah Palins of the world, hold the future of our country in their hands by insisting on the Constitutional rule of law and limited government. The government, once again, must fear the people, not visa-versa.

The answer is demanding TAX CUTS. As Milton Friedman points out, the politicians will ALWAYS spend more than they get and should be kicked out of office for doing so. Getting and keeping taxes low will lower the level of their mischief and will allow our country to thrive economy.

I wish I had some wondrous insight on how to get the government to be smaller.
Well, actually I do. As always it’s through God. People underestimated God while overestimating the government. We’d need a revival that would make the Great Awakening look like a sleepy slap at an alarm clock.
I used to be skeptical about hell fire approaches, and am not quite so much any more, but what really stank about the way that was used at the Great Awakening was that it was tied to a do-you-feel-lucky-punk human-philosophy Calvinism. And that hobbled the results greatly. We need a biblical God-is-love faith to cut past all the spiritual B.S. The best chance for it will be through evangelization of exactly that kind. As close to Jesus-like preaching as we can possibly get. We don’t know what kind of people God has prepared, but we can’t just lay back lazily and assume the worst either.

Well, the stellar ones today are virtually always the outspokenly Christian ones too.
While I am a completely convinced Christian and can point to the Lord, just the optimism of a victorious Christian faith is a huge plus in the middle of what must be one of the gloomiest and doomiest ages in this land.
And love... always remember love... our problem is not too much love, even in this crazily oversexed age. It’s too little! The oversexed craze is like the prodigal son who tried to eat the pig fodder. Won’t work, no way, no how. If the President wants the debt limit raised then he should accept significant cuts in government programs including Obamacare.
Of course once government programs including Obamacare are cut, then there won’t be any need to raise the debt limit.
Ive wanted Obama impeached since November 2008, so far no such luck..and this country has slowly slowly become the Socialist Utopia he has always wanted..Obama wants this country bankrupt..because he was taught his whole life to despise everything about America
