Yea , I know . Very close .
This is the muzzie Island right? I do know a missionary to the Island.
I’m here in Cebu and all is well for the most part, just got power back 30 minutes ago.
But just felt another aftershock as I’m typing this.
Thanks anyway. It would have nice if you could have actually posted a link, rather than ask me to go looking.
The info you posted is from a commercial, ip address tracking, news aggregating quasi-blog site located in Belgium.
According to the statement from the commercial, news aggregating, quasi-blog Belgian site owner, the information
you posted is unsourced info that has been gleaned from all over the Internet and then posted on the commercial blog,
which makes it dubious at best.
According to the map, it’s about 50 miles from Cebu.
Doffer, thank you for the first hand account and so good to hear that you're okay and have your power back on.
It's probably best to stay inside until the aftershocks slow down. Aftershocks are earthquakes, too. They're no less significant
than the primary quake. In fact aftershocks are often the cause of serious damage and injuries, especially following a major earthquake.
Prayers for all in the area. Stay safe!
I know that Mall, it’s located in Cebu City about 10 miles from where I live.
Here are some pictures at the link.

Prayers
Knarf, thanks for the information on Alex W and his family's locale. Freeper Doofer is on Cebu and posted during an aftershock that the power just came back on.
Prayers continuing that all will be safe.
Pinging the Prayer Warriors.
Meyer, please let us know how your friends are doing. Prayers extended!
On twitter they are saying they’re feeling pretty noticeable aftershocks yet in Cebu City, a lot of people still standing outside, all of about only 25 minutes ago.
Thank you, Jodster36. The few photos I have had a chance to look are devastating.
I’m praying for everyone suffering from this earthquake!
From twitter:
Danielle Llamasares @philredcross my sis who is a doctor in Tagbilaran, Bohol said that they are attending to a lot of casualties @Gallares Memorial Hosp
Prayers for everybody affected
Thanks for the update, Jodster36.
Yes, especially the 400 year old church. I have a few friends living over there, but thank God they are OK.
USGS now has the depth of the main quake at 20km....!
People outside Cebu business centers are not yet allowed inside buildings due to the Earthquake.
Also: fatalities up to 6 http://earthquake-report.com/2013/10/15/very-strong-earthquake-mindanao-philippines-on-october-15-2013/
Still getting big aftershocks an hour and a half later...
Meant to say 2 1/2 hours later...
Thank you for the update, you are right! :) It's not unusual to find that the initial measurements have changed and will probably change several more times over the next several days. For example, the initial depth had also changed earlier to 56.8 km from the time I first posted this thread.
Oh I agree....!
Thanks for taking time to post, Doofer. Hang in there, you've got a whole host of folks praying for you and all in the Philippines.
Sorry to hear that, Jodster36. Thanks for your updates! You've got incoming Freepmail.
Thank you, Alamo-girl. Bowing my head in prayer again with you.
Thanks and if you hear or read anything new, please post and link it here.
Nothing felt here in southern Mindanao.
Thank you, ch.man. That's good news. One of my friends is from Mindanao with relatives still living there.
Will do....!
Just a quick note for you...The USARRAY system captured the quake but honestly I have seen quakes further away with less intensity make bigger waves.
Weird actually.

“USGS now has the depth of the main quake at 20km....!”
What ‘USGS’? This is what I’m reading (NOT kidding!)
“Due to the Federal government shutdown, usgs.gov and most associated web sites are unavailable.
Only web sites necessary to protect lives and property will be maintained.”
Thank you, ch.man!

Strong earthquake hits Bohol, 6 killed
Tuesday, October 15, 2013
CEBU (7th Update) A powerful magnitude-7.2 earthquake jolted Carmen, Bohol and other parts of the Visayas and Mindanao Tuesday morning, killing at least six persons and injuring dozens others.
At least four people were confirmed killed in Cebu City.
Cebu City Vice Mayor Edgar Labella said in radio interview that the four were killed after a slab from the fish market fell on them.
"We're quite fortunate today is a holiday, not too many people in (office) buildings," he said.
Another report said two persons were killed when part of a public market in Mandaue City in Cebu collapsed. Seventeen others were reportedly injured.
Neil Sanchez of the local disaster council in Cebu told ANC that a school building has collapsed in Talisay City and several schoolchildren were trapped in the debris.
The Philippine Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) Director Renato Solidum Jr. said in a radio interview that while there is no indication the quake can cause a tsunami and damage.
Phivolcs has so far recorded 18 aftershocks as of 10:30 a.m., he said.

Thanks, thanks!
Thank you very much, winoneforthegipper. The most recent quake I could find on IRIS occurred on September 25, 2013.
IRIS is connected with USGS and may be withholding the info due to the shutdown.
Yeah the ARRAY is up to date....288th day of the year makes it UTC the 15th of October.
Praise God they're safe!
You wanna see buildings not made for earthquakes?
Seattle & Portland (& rest of the coast)will put on a big display when the Cascadia Fault cracks!
To give credit, local government is doing what they can.
I don’t want to be in the viaduct tunnel when that happens (or the light rail tunnels).
Thank you! :)

Shortly before the Loma Prieta earthquake I was driving on the under span (the one that fell) of the Nimitz freeway and had a premonition that I did not want to be there when an earthquake hit.
Depending how long before it was, it is possible you were responding to the ultra low frequency vibrations that immediately precede earthquakes. My pet birds go crazy right before I feel small earthquakes around here. Sometimes I don’t feel the quakes at all and have to look them up.
It really irks me when U.S. government agencies use metric measurements in official documents and public announcements. The metric system may be fine for practical use in science, but it doesn't communicate to a population that doesn't use it.
Most Americans don't know a kilometer from a furlong, and can't readily visualize those distances.
