A man beaten unconscious in May after he stopped for gas in north Baton Rouge filed a lawsuit against Stadium Chevron, claiming the gas station failed to provide security at night in a neighborhood long plagued by violent crime.

The litigation stems from a racially charged assault that generated outrage in Baton Rouge and prompted calls for Dickerson to be charged with a hate crime.
Ray, 42, had been on his way to get something to eat with his family when they stopped at the Chevron after dark.
Ray’s 15-year-old daughter told police and FBI officials she was worried about her father as he waited to pay because there were a lot of people at the window. She said Dickerson cut in front of her dad and began arguing with him.
Dickerson told Ray he was “in the wrong neighborhood and he was not going to make it out,” according to court records.
Ray later told an officer from his hospital bed his assailant had addressed him as “white boy,” according to supplemental police reports.
Ray was severely beaten in the attack, suffering facial fractures, a broken nose, a broken eye socket, a concussion and bruises and cuts to his face and skull, the lawsuit claims.

That is what needs to be done. The state, if the perp served time in it, needs to be sued before ensuring the perp served his full sentence.
The service station is the wrong target for this lawsuit, but I suppose they’re the most likely target of convenience.
How about taking on the blastards that participated in the assault.
Oh yea, they didn’t have pockets. Sure don’t think Chevron has any responsibility to provide security that you are capable of providing.
They do have responsibility to keep their pumps, and tanks from blowing up and frying you.
1. Always use pay-at-the-pump with a credit card.
2. Always be armed.
3. Keep your head on a swivel even at the pump.
And yet somehow, others are supposed to welcome this element into the neighborhoods, schools, shopping. People pick up and move along, often at great expense, exactly for this reason. Just look at housing patterns, yet nary a peep from the MSM nor pols who just choose to inflame situations (see e.g. George Z.)

Of course you are right. This will serve to drive businesses away.
Imagine a black man receiving the same treatment in a white area gas station. We’d have pundits talking about “white supremacy” rearing it’s ugly head. They’d even have their own graphic for TV complete with sorrowful music and background scenes of Klan marches and fire hoses spraying people. Surely, Obama would much to say, including legislation to remedy it.
I know this story is about the lawsuit, but geez. It’s pretty much open season on whitey. Stay locked and loaded, my friends.
In the odd event that I did not actually have my “friend” with me my 15 year old would have come out of the vehicle administering lead repellant as soon as I went down.
Keep your tank at least half full so you never have to stop at any station where you don’t feel comfortable. (Also good if you have to leave town and get two hundred miles right now like in a hurricane evacuation).

I’m not sure what the station could have done to stop what happened. A sign saying no shirts, no shoes, no hate-filled blacks would cause even more problems. Maybe a sign saying no white crackers allowed would work better. I hope the victim has armed himself, knowing that hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of ignorant blacks have been taught to blame him for their crappy lives, and to hate everything about him.

Suing the gas station is wrong. He should sue the government for creating an angry, permanent underclass and giving them explicit authorization to steal from and attack the productive people who go out to work every day to pay the way for the freeloaders.

That was my take, as well. It’s pretty clear the perp doesn’t have any assets, and before long, neither will the service station if it’s a franchise rather than oil company owned (in which case they will likely settle fairly quickly). When it closes, locals will complain about lack of gas stations in their neighborhood.
Yes, suing and making the ruling class pay out the nose for diversity racism is exactly what needs to be done.

It didn’t happen.
There were *calls* to charge him with a hate crime. The victim’s family didn’t want it and the DA didn’t do it.
And never let the wife demand a food or rest room stop when you are in a bad area. Women seem to be totally oblivious to danger around them when they need to eat or pee.

When grocery stores close because of too much shoplifting and too many criminal acts in the store and parking lot, Leftists get all huffy about the evil grocery chains creating “food deserts”. Be familiar with your weapon and carry it. Keep situational awareness and stay away from others that may be a problem - even if it means you lose your place in line.
If we had a Republican Party not made of self-admitted cowards, the House GOP would be holding hearings on how the Obama Administration, the Democrat Party, associated groups and the media have been instigation race hatred and are worsening race relations in this country.
