Yup. Try that with your household budget some time and see what happens to you. (Like I have to tell you, Johnny.)
There are no dictatorial powers of the president. Article 1 section 7 gives him specific powers to sign or veto. If presidents can dictate, what have we been doing this for? Any move by obama to grab the right to incur debt from the Congress could be met with impeachment and civil unrest like we have never seen. There is no emergency here!! The money comes in and we spend it on good priorities.. This president is going MAd. STOP HIM
Curious that the Democrat-controlled Senate is called “the Senate” and the House is called “the House GOP”
As if Harry Reid was somehow not the biggest partisan hack in Congress.
I have seen very little indication of the GOP suffering in real life..
But its "leaders" are walking around with purses.
Very disappointing.
But I don’t think the conservatives will let such a bill as described through the House.
I was hoping for a fairly “clean” temp debt bill and to keep the CR/Obamacare fight going until the Dems have to engage. They’ve successfully hidden behind Obama and Harry’s blockade so far.
McConnell will have to lead any surrender from the Senate. Goodbye Mitch, hello 2014 Minority Leader Collins.
I don’t think Boehner can do it alone.
Apparently there are a group of profession people who specialize in working for the congress. There is a limited few and if they go away it’ll take years to train their replacements. /s
I posted this a few minutes ago.

Do you think 0bama will have the audacity to intentionally allow the US to default on our bond payments ?
Think about it from a purely political position.
If he feels comfortable enough that he can get away with blaming the GOP for the debacle that is sure to follow, why wouldnt he do soo ?
He could create the havoc that will allow him the opportunity to come in as the Savior.
Do you think 0bama is going to fold on the debt ceiling or budget battle ?
Why should he fold ?
He wins if we go into default.
This is a HUGE opportunity for him to tip the balance.
An opportunity to send the entire world into an economic crisis while not being responsible since he will get the medias backing.
To think that 0bama would be worried about his legacy seems a bit naive.
0bama wants to build his legacy in his 3rd term.
Since automatic 7% annual increases are built into the federal budget, any cuts to the budget would have to be more than 7% per year to achieve a net reduction in spending. A reduction in the rate of growth is not a cut.
In DC speak, only increasing spending x% after proposing a y% increase is a cut.
Congressional Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974
Balanced Budget and Emergency Deficit Control Act of 1985
Budget Enforcement Act of 1990
Balanced Budget Act of 1997.
Yep, one more act ought to do it.
Buy used from garage sales. Starve the beast.
It is up to the people now that all politicians are part of the problem.
He needs to get Sarah Palin`s latest writing...Sarah lays it out clearly, impeachable offense to default
we have the money to cover the interest to China, we have the money to fund military, to fund old age security etc
Scary stuff ...
Anyway this is interesting:

House Republicans have dropped two demands related to Obamacare from their proposal to end the fiscal stalemate in Washington, sources told CNN. These include a proposal to delay the medical device tax and another to tighten income verification of those seeking subsidies to purchase health insurance under the Affordable Care Act. Separately, Republican Rep. Devin Nunes of California told CNN's Dana Bash that he expects the House to vote on Tuesday night on its plan to reopen the government and avoid a possible U.S. default.
The deadline for increasing the debt ceiling is Thursday, according to the Treasury, and economists warn that failure to act in time would spike interest rates with possible catastrophic impact at home and abroad. However, House Republicans were considering their own proposal that would tack on provisions changing President Barack Obama's signature health care reforms in what appeared to be a last-gasp effort to influence the proposed Senate agreement. According to GOP sources and confirmed by Republican Rep. Darrell Issa of California, the House plan under consideration would include most of what is in the Senate proposal while adding a provision to suspend an Obamacare tax on medical devices for two years and remove federal health care subsidies for Obama and legislators when they obtain health coverage under the reforms
Who cares about the medical device tax? What world are we living in?
Obamacare is the death of America. If it is not repealed then all is lost.
They passed bills already. Tell the Senate to pick one CR of the multitude they passed, or the House recesses.
The House is starting to look like a bunch of idiots with this “oooh, now we got ya... we’ll make Obama sign up for Obamacare” nonsense.
- Repeal the medical device tax
- Repeal the 30 hour mandate
- Repeal the individual mandate
- Repeal the creation of a ton of new agencies
- Repeal the business mandate
- Leave the exchanges as a constant boondoggle reminder to the people
- Repeal the WHOLE THING
Obama will cave, or be forced to make cuts across the entire government.
We win either way because then we’re spending what we’re taking in.
Best way to handle this is to face reality.
It won't be pretty, but it beats our being ever more sure that a WW-III will happen.
The Tea Party is looking better and better ... every day.
How many bogus news media GOP “surrender” stories will Freepers fall for?!
Unfortunately I fear that what the Republicans want, at least the "leaders," is for obamacare to to be protected and to provide some protection for the Democrats' electoral prospects next year. They really are acting as the designated opposition division of the Democrat Party and seem to be currently tasked with bringing the recalcitrant members along, the ones who think they are part of a separate political party.
Well stated. We’re in the end game for communists running our government. They’re playing for all the marbles and the ends justifies the means in their collective minds.
Yep, and Craig's list, etc. Also ebay from mom and pop sellers. :-)
Just on CNN.... All the on air folks might just as well wear DNC T shirts, I mean if they could only hear themselves.
When it`s not crunch time, they try and pretend they don’t have an agenda, but the last few days they are as bad or worse than MSNBC if that was possible.
To MSNBC credit they gave up even the appearance of attempting to be balanced, but CNN says they are better, what a joke.
Every former and/or disgruntled Rep has been rounded up to give the Rep point of view on stuff, totally embarrassing to watch
