McConnell suspends talks with Dems, giving GOP room to work

Senate GOP Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) has suspended talks with Senate Democrats to give House Republicans more time to work on their own play to raise the debt ceiling and end the government shutdown.

According to a source familiar with the discussions, McConnell has suspended talks to give House Republicans room to work.

But neither side has much time to craft a new solution, with a possible default looming on Thursday.

The Treasury Department has warned it will not have the flexibility to pay all of the nation’s bills on Oct. 17.

House Republican leaders on Tuesday announced their own plan to fund the government through Jan. 15 and raise the debt ceiling to Feb. 7.

It would also make changes to ObamaCare by delaying for two years a new tax on medical devices, and by stripping premium subsidies from lawmakers, Cabinet officials and the president and vice president.

It’s not clear House leaders have the votes to pass the plan, however, with conservatives demanding changes and the White House and Democrats rejecting it.

Senate leaders had appeared close to a tentative deal on the debt limit and shutdown, but nothing has been announced.

“I would be very cautious. Nothing has been agreed to,” the source familiar with discussions said.

The Republicans need to listen to Rush Limbaugh (like the Leftist Regressives claim they do), and not budge ONE INCH until they delay the individual mandate the same way they delayed the business mandate.

What the hell kind of negotiation is it when only one side is making concessions?

Sheesh.

Reid wasn’t the picture of composure while speaking in the senate today; hyper and bombastic even more than usual. Things aren’t going according to plan and some cracks are appearing in the rat veneer.

As Louisiana’s Senator Vitter put it several days ago, “It’s like plea bargaining with yourself.”
The GOP should tell them to GTH, and come back to the table when they’re serious and Bam Bam, Jr. wants to stop the gratuitous insults.

The District of Columbia mayor and other city politicians (black) are furious at Reid for not passing the House funding CR for the District. That’s why Reid is freaking out. The DC Mayor is about ready to go nuclear on Reid and Obama.

Louie Gohmert was on Fox Americas News HQ today and said the 10-17 date is a bogus date and they have until the end of this month. He really irritates the women interviewing him on Fox. They can’t ask the gotcha questions because he talks right over them. lol!

Dems are claiming they’ve already made concessions, first by backing down from single payer when they enacted ZeroCare, then by agreeing to Pubbie cuts since. So because they believe they’ve already conceded a lot, they’re drawing the line. What we’ve got, then, is two parallel lines . . . .

The Treasury Department has warned it will not have the flexibility to pay all of the nation’s bills on Oct. 17.

Lew ("loo") is indicating Barry's threat not to allow his Department to reasonably prioritize payments in such a way as to have the government live within its $3T means. Absent Barry's artificial obstruction living within constraints of revenue (as all Americans face such issues for themselves and families) would be easily doable. IOW, Barry prefers a train wreck so as not to let these crises go to waste.

With the government in shutdown, Barry will have to work all that much harder to fully default on its obligations, because of the savings of not having to pay for most of government's wasteful, corrupt, and inefficient if not useless churning.

These scenarii will allow Barry to excuse himself and blame Republicans for his implementation of martial law and designation under NDAA of Conservatives and TEA-party adherents as "belligerent actors".

Barry's plan for FEMA will be to open the camps and start to move us in! Errrrrrr! Fail!

It may turn out like evry other fight in the end.

But Mitch being up for reelection has sure made this fight more interesting so far.

The great author, James Clavell(Shogun)wrote a book titled King Rat,and a Movie was made of it a few decades ago. I think King Rat is a fitting moniker for Harry Reid.

Let’s begin with barry reimbursing the USA for all his taxpayer-financed campaign trips on Air Force I, moochie’s trips to Africa, Spain, Martha’s Vineyard and Aspen and NY....and then lay off the White House Chefs so that the first family can begin learning some important survival tips by digging up all those sweet potatoes rotting in the White House garden....that should knock of a Trillion bucks right there.

.........................................................

And who is in charge of the Treasury Department?????

Does anyone else believe that a spiteful Obama would be telling them what to say? Not only that but would forfeit to enable him to force a vote.

In our congressional district in 2010, the most popular bumper sticker was “Fire Pelosi”. I have to believe that a sticker of Harry and Nancy as king and queen rat would be equally popular.

That is so true.

Barring the pesky little obstacle of an upcoming campaign we would have had McConnell, McCain, McBiden and McBongo throwing open the government and its printing presses weeks ago.
