All bills for raising revenue must - that's the imperative, MUST - originate in the House.
Why?
Because the House is closest to the People, most closely reflects our will at the present time, and is elected frequently enough for us to change them if we need to.
That's what we did in 2010, and what we re-affirmed in 2012.
The President is an administrator. He disposes of the funds that we, the People, appropriate through OUR House.
Boehner, Cantor, and McCarthy are acting like naughty children, afraid they are going to be caught and punished, instead of LEADERS BY RIGHT who OWN the funds and who have the POWER AND THE DUTY to dispose of them wisely.
Stay on Mission right through the heavy Flak, and just watch them turn on the Undocumented Imposter one by one.
House Republicans are in trouble.
We all would have been in trouble if they’d voted for this thing.
You are right.
Most people are not getting to the heart of the matter. They are hung up on tangents, like the cost of their insurance under obumbler care.
The real heart of the matter is that this is really a contest as to how our government will be run from now on and who will run it.
The founders intended, and the Constitution makes it very plain, that the congress would pass all laws and the president would be the executive that faithfully carried out the wishes of congress.
If a law was so repugnant that the president could not sign, he could veto it.
The congress could then vote to over ride or they could let the veto stand.
All of that makes it obvious the intent of the founders and the intent of the Constitution.
Also requiring that all money bills must originate in the house made it possible that the rest of the government could not run away with the government.
So the president calling the senate to the liar’s house to discuss passing money bills is not what the constitution calls for.
The way this should work and what the house should do is send the senate a bill.
The senate can pass it, in which case it goes on to the liar’s house. If he vetoes it, that is that. The bill is dead unless the congress over rides.
If the senate does not pass it or if they do not over ride, then it is dead.
The house should write the bill they want and send it on its way. If the senate and the president don’t sign on to it, then the house should either revise the bill or go home and let the government shut down.
To do anything else turns the government over to the liar’s house.
Defunding obumbler care is the tool to force obumblers hand.
The patches the rinos are discussing are not even worthy of being called band aids. Making the congress and obumbler live under obumbler care does not address the problems in the IRS role, the “navigators”, the insurance costs and the unreasonable coverages forced by bureaucrats, the health professionals leaving the system, the graft and corruption the in the system, the potential for identity theft and worse and maybe worst of all, the death panels...whether overt or by omission of care.
The whole thing must be scrapped and started over.
bttt!
The lib media is so afraid that they will lose hold of the narrative. The reality is that if government stays shut down, our credibility will actually rise because we can finally balance the budget. It’s so simple, a child can see it.
I can see Jesus just as he did to the moneychangers, kick Obama and his ilk out of the people’s house and let their corrupt institutions crumble. Please stand strong Sen. Cruz!
I haven’t read Neocon Review Online in ages. My blood pressure hasn’t been this good since I was 14.
Now, when I say “neocon”, I don’t mean it the way Paultards and Moonbats do. When those dweebs use the word, it usually means “Jew” in the most derogatory, disgusting way possible. (Just like their other favorite word, “bankster”.As a Jew, I find it quite insulting when they use the word. As a Conservative, I find it annoying that they have no idea what it really means.) When I say it, I mean exactly what the word is meant to convey: A former Dhimmicrat (like former Mondale speech writer Charles Krauthamer just to name one off the top of my head.)who’s perfectly ok with the New Deal, big government and all the rest of the liberal nonsense.
Buckley must turn over in his grave daily when he sees what his life’s work has become.
Thoughts?
Its all about the money, the most well funded wins. Heritage and FreedomWorks letting the GOPe know they were not going to be endorsed on their voting cards was the signal. TeaParty candidates are raising tons of money now. Wish it weren’t setup this way, but it is what it is for the moment.
When thjngs go smoothly in DC, the American people get screwed. When thjngs are chaotic in DC, the political class gets screwed.
I’m ok with that.
Mitch isn’t William Wallace. That role is being played by Cruz.
McConnell is Robert the Bruce.
The RINOs do understand. They want that level of control. They just want to be the ones in charge of it
Not even if he reached into Graham’s make-up purse and covered half his face with blue eye liner?
Harry is Robert the Bruce.
I’m with you.
and I simply cannot understand the harumphing coming from all the righty pundits advising our side to just make a deal so we don’t “look bad”, and predicting big losses at the poll next year.
A YEAR from now...? Voters won’t care next year, they aren’t paying attention now!
So we should just suck it up and spend millions(more?) to underwrite a bad idea to prove its a bad idea...and foot the bill for supporting the decline in employment as employees continue to wallow in under-employment, while the people who originally thought it was a great idea, are exempt from participating...? WTF?
Man. I’m kinda steamed. LOL. The cost of grunions will be out of my price range.
Are you unhappy that FreedomWorks and Heritage are taking in more donations than the RNC? And donating to Tea Party Candidates, rather than RNC donating (as much) to RINO's? How would you prefer it to be set up? Just trying to understand your comment.
The US cannot "default" - - that isn't possible.
the media and Obama keep saying the lie that if the debt ceiling is not raised that it will lead to default . that is a big lie repeated again and again. nothing could be further from the truth . the Constitution demands that the debt be serviced FIRST and the stupid U.S. gov is taking in monthly 10 times what is needed to service the debt. so if Obama purposefully defaults (doesn't pay the interest on the debt which must be paid first) then Obama is committing an unconstitutional crime . just threatening to default as it Obama is doing is unconstitutional and Obama is lying and must be impeached for this.
nothing should happen if they don't raise the debt cieling .however Obama and the media are trying to get the market and economy to crash to blame the Republicans for ruining the economy
Right, not with the US gov. taking in about ~ $3.042 trillion dollars a year in taxes and other receipts.
Winston Cruz has stood up and led while Neville Boehner has been trying to find a way to capitulate to “the leader”.
I now call it the feral government. Wild, untamable, and needing to be put down.
Unconstitutional for the Senate to initiate a CR. But so were most of the leftist laws passed the last five years.
Time to start the ball rolling on the Liberty Amendments.
Theoretically it should go like this.
Step one: remove Boner. Gohmert for Speaker.
Step two: impeach.
Step three: vote out the Rats and Rinos who block the removal of the TOTUS. Starting with 2014.
House Republicans ARE in trouble. House and Senate CONSERVATIVES are not.
I hear all this talk about how Republican un-favorability polls have the R’s losing tons.
Well Hellya! It’s because both libs and conservatives hate them.
They never go into “why” the R’s are sinking in the polls, they just ASSUME or make the narrative to be that “fringe” has silenced those “moderates”. NO, it’s because we are all sick of the “moderates”, and do not trust them one bit.
I despise the Republican Party right now. Boner, Issa, Lindsey, McCain, McConnel, THEY are the problem. They are the reason that polling has R’s losing points, it is a general disgust.
Thank you for a great post.
Good post.
Thanks.
The GOPe thinks this is a chess game. It’s not chess but poker. Call the Bastard’s bluff.
Not at all. I vote TeaParty was just explaining to the gentleman my opinion re: the falling apart of the RINOS during this last round of negotiations. I gave dollars to the cause;^)
Hey you, of course I agree with your synopsis this is much more distressing then the clintoon years. Those seem like the good old days.
Now we are dealing with a near constitutional crisis among other unlawful events perpetrated by this administration with the assistance of RINOs. Not the type of history in the making I wanted to see.
Noticed the price of grunion is already rising due hunting limits being placed upon them. I am outraged!!!;^)
Some are waking up but some will never wake up. There are actually beings who look at a glance like normal humans walking around, talking etc. who actually believe that the government could furnish EVERYTHING FOR EVERYBODY if they only would. I know it sounds strange but they do exist and many of them vote. Don’t ask me how they can be that stupid and still walk, let alone chew gum at the same time but some manage it. Others have written volumes explaining how this is possible but I lack the intelligence to even attempt an explanation.
Ah yes, the Golden Era of Clinton, the good old days when we had a common enemy and it wasn’t ourselves!
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants... bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society. Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors. [but hes not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... We do need to expand the party and grow the party and that does mean that we don't always all agree on every issue" ... the party needs to become more welcoming to individuals who disagree with basic Republican doctrine on emotional social issues such as gay marriage... "We're going to have to be a little hands off on some of these issues ... and get people into the party," Paul said.
