Eleven million American adults with mental illnesses do not have health insurance, making it very difficult for them to get treatment. It is difficult for these Americans to get health insurance because their applications are often rejected due to their pre-existing condition of mental illnesses.
Thankfully, the Affordable Care Act has many provisions that aim at trying to fix this problem. Here are some of the ways Obamacare is working to bridge the insurance gap that exists for adults with mental disorders:

...only if they put a stop to it.
And create mental health problems for another 20 million.
See, Republicans are right, Congress SHOULD be on Husseincare!
Has this guy seen a newspaper lately?
Can we give Congress and Zero free mental healthcare and still exempt them from zerocare?
I know someone who was getting some of that fine socialized Canadian mental health care.
She hadn’t seen a doctor for a couple of years but her Paxil showed up on her doorstep like clockwork. Unfortunately what she really needed was monitoring.
I would be judged mentally defective for spotting the evil in their communism then I would be put against a wall and “cured”. No thanks.
I’m not sure we want to subject crazy people to the Obamacare website.
The BOcare websites are enough to drive anyone crazy!
Except for the very few who really need it - that's a LOT of freeloaders!! How many of those able bodied people have no real excuse for not getting their own jobs?
I know a woman who was collecting SS for being "Too nervous to work." She had no problem running a cash only day care center out of her trailer, though.
Deductibles skyrocket to $25K?
St. Edwards journalism program must be in the crapper.
Everyone who signs up for Obamacare will be evaluated for mental health. If the ptb don’t like what you say and do, you’ll get free counseling, free meds, a permanent record for employees to check. Sounds good to me (sarcasm)
The definition of insanity is trying to sign on to the obamacare website over & over & over again.
Why don’t these people think the actual crime here is in the refusal of the shrinks to provide free mental health care to those afflicted who don’t have insurance? Seems only fair.
Well played!
Is this the same 11 million he’s trying to give amnesty to?
Isn’t it pretty to think so?
When I worked at the Community Mental Health Clinic, most of our patients were on Medicaid. And for those who were not, but couldn’t afford meds, most of the companies had programs for them to receive their med’s cost free.
I might add that not all staff were interested in the free meds for those clients who were eligible because some staff members were lazy.
A lobotomy would help.
That's both funny and not funny!
Regarding mental health treatment, the problem where I live is lack of providers, although every other medical specialty exists in great numbers (cancer clinics, cardiology, neurology, birthing, and everything else). With or without insurance it's very difficult to get in to see a provider in a psychiatric specialty. So I can say with certainty, Obamacare is not going to improve mental health care in this area unless they bus in providers.
The crazy thing here -- and this is an addendum to my last comment -- is that the psychiatrist at the community health clinic has not been "credentialed' by the health insurer who handles most of the Medicaid patients in the state. So no therapy for them!
My prescription to improve mental health care in America— round up every Mental health Care practice in the Country— put them in a special camp like we did the Japs and the Krouts in WWII. let them psychoanalyze each other until their drool dries up —shoot any one standing inside the wire— Burn all the contaminated waste.Let any family outside the wire pay expenses if they ant the ashes.
Tac-Nuke needed on Austin.. Sad to say it’s from my state :/
AMEN
Fixed it.
Also sad to say it's from my state, too :(
And loss of right to own a gun!
