Into the maelstrom we go.
This reading from Train Tracks is for the birds .
I trust the various sources who say that the feds take in 200 billion to 250 billion dollars a month; the debt (principal and interest is 60(?) billion dollars a month).
Plus existing laws authorize SS to demand payment from Treasury for the billions (trillions?) in instruments they hold even if Treasury has to borrow the money. Other obligations are also covered.
I did this search of google News: constitution amendment default -hertzberg
I limited the search to the past week.
I got 15 hits from the past week.. I skipped the name Hertzberg because it was an article that my cursory scan showed praise for Obama and loathing for conservatives, but did mention the 14th Amendment. The article was published by scores of newspapers nationwide.
So how about some educated help even if it sounds pedantic? You have the PhD, Dr. Savage. You just said that someone has to do to; to wit, look at these things and expose them. Help.
The scroll bar is right over there --->
People are not bored and turn off talk radio. Of course millions never turned it on. There was entertainment during W.W.II but I do not recall people getting bored discussing the existential threats.
And more than 150 years ago.
". . . some key [events] exacerbated the national debate, fraying trust, and national cohesion just a little more each time . . . The two-party system that had governed America . . . began to fall apart . . . interest in politics took the place of all other forms of news-related entertainment . . . politicians were the celebrities . . . [Politics/ideology] was becoming such a habit, the reactions so automatic, that [journalists] taking sides on every news story became inevitable."
.. I just can't avoid thinking about this from for Love & Liberty by Robin Young and it's about 1857 America.
"interest in politics took the place of all other forms of news-related entertainment . . . politicians were the celebrities . . . [journalists] taking sides on every news story."
White House and DNC media consultants would like us to believe that talking about issues facing our Repulblic is boring but they have a reason to get us to shut up. Who's advising Savage, et al.?
” So how about some educated help even if it sounds pedantic? You have the PhD, Dr. Savage. You just said that someone has to do to; to wit, look at these things and expose them. Help. “
This is why we tune in , not to hear reading from his books .
Good show tonite.
1 hour and 50 minutes to Savage here.
I am tired of the bleat, and yes, especially when he’s talking about the constitution. We’re you listening a few weeks ago when he said someday he’d tell listeners the truth about the founding fathers. I doubt it will be much different than the stuff in history books by leftwing historians that the schools have been using for the past few decades. I could be wrong.
Lose the bleat. Rush has the lisp, Levin has the pant. I’m tired of all of them. No more bleat, Savage, if you’re listening.
And stop calling people sheeple. It’s a cliche.
And don’t talk about people wearing baseball caps backwards. That’s a grunge thing and its been almost 20 years since Kurt passed now.
End of rant.
RE: red China
First I don't think that we will default unless Obama deliberately arranges it even while tens of billions of dollars are piling up at Treasury this month.
If he does it's a possible downgrade for us; it's revolution for Red China.
It will pretty much end their economy. There will be no reason for hundreds of millions of Chinese to work to export our technology back to us.
So Savage may be right saying that Red China would clamor to continue to export to us.
