Rep. Darrell Issa (R-Calif.) said Tuesday he would vote for a “clean CR” to end the government shutdown.
“I’ll vote for a clean CR," Issa told CNN’s “The Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer.
“Republicans in the House have always been for a clean CR increase if it meant we began the serious negotiations on the kinds of reforms that need to happen…entitlements as a shortcut for it. That's what the deal is about right now.” Democrats have pressed Republicans to bring a continuing resolutio to the floor that funds the government and does nothing else for weeks.
GOP leaders have argued the clean CR would not have the votes to pass the House, something Democrats say is not true.
House GOP leaders are now trying to get their members to approve a new measure that would fund the government through Dec. 15 and raise the debt ceiling through Feb. 7, but it is unclear if it has the votes to pass.
The bill would also prohibit lawmakers and their staffs from getting employer contributions to their ObamaCare insurance, and would prevent the Treasury Department from using "extraordinary measures" to prevent the nation from exceeding the new debt limit.
Democrats object to those measures.
Issa had previously voted for measures to fund the government as long as Obamacare is defunded or some of the law’s other provisions are delayed.

IMHO, the Republicans need to refocus. They aren’t winning.
Even if they get what they want, they are setting the stage for a third party run in 2016. They aren’t attracting the Unions when they were being given to them on a silver platter.
Instead the RATS are playing this similar to Perot when Bill ran against Bush. The 3rd party and the Republicans are placing Hillary into office right now.
They need the conservative base back to normal and regame for 2016.
All that money floatin’ around, you’d think Repubs could afford to buy a spine.
I think the present “budget” - the shutdown - is a good one to stay on permanently.
But the “banker’s eunuchs” members of Congress can’t say no to their masters.
Don’t say that about Issa. We still have ‘sequestration’ and that’s the ‘holy grail’ in this fight, but I’m betting Mark Levin is right - the RATs won’t support any bill - they want chaos to expand their power grab ...

After watching several investigations conducted by Issa, I could not shake the feeling there is something wrong with this guy, on the one hand he would start with a powerful opening statement, on the other hand it was all down hill from there.
Who is their right mind would think that zero and dirty Harry would ever negotiate in good faith without a gun to their heads when they won’t do it in the face of default (supposedly) and shut down?

No such thing. You will end up voting for a CR that raises spending across the board by 5% as well as eliminates all of the non-defense sequester cuts. And you will vote to continue funding of Obamacare.
If any body thought that they wouldn’t cave you must be delusional. This was all a ploy to make everyone think that they tried real hard to not fund obumbler care. Also, if you think that the main characters in the house and senate want that bill repealed also need their heads checked.
To think that either party would not like to have the ultimate power over the people then we don’t understand politics. The E-pubs like the fact the healthcare passed and that they would not be blamed for it. The Rats did the job for them. You see, we are the pawns in this game and the sooner people stop watching this sitcom and react to your freedoms being wiped out the better chance we have to surviving this game as free men.
So we find that Issa is just another go along to get along male reproductive organ. Explains why fast & furious went nowhere.
There, fixed it for you. By the time this is over, the Republicans will surrender the sequestration cuts, approve a 5% across the board spending increase, fully fund ObamaCare, repeal the medical device tax, repeal the Cadillac plan penalty on unions, and tack on a new Democrat wish list disguised as yet another 'jobs' bill.
Issa will head up a committee to investigate why the GOP-e stinks up the joint.

CR’s are themselves “unclean” - it is not the normal budget process. There hasn’t been a budget since the clown show seized power.

It's my opinion since the Lois Lerner fiasco that Issa is filthy dirty.
Please don’t insult that slug by comparing him to Issa.
Let’s start that conversation by acknowledging we aren’t going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants... bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society. Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors. [but he’s not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
...by softening its edge on some volatile social issues and altering its image as the party always seemingly "eager to go to war... Issa needs to be primaried. His district is very conservative, and I’ll bet his constituents are unhappy.
Is this the same Issa who is supposedly leading the IRS investigation? No wonder it’s gone nowhere. So depressing...every time you get your hopes up that there’s a Republican with backbone you’re disappointed. It really is just us and the handful of stalwarts - Cruz, Lee, Sessions - a few others...that’s it. The others are Washington hacks.
