West Virginia has been going more Republican as time goes on.
A minor upset in the 2000 election was when Bush carried West Virginia. That state had been reliably Democrat in presidential elections. Now it’s very red. Too bad it only has a handful of electoral votes.
There was no upset. Gore never had a chance. He was DOA here because of gun control. Heston wasted his time touring the state.
