My kid was arrested on a DUI charge and the States Attorney dropped the charge against him.
The police acted in an illegal manner in there haste to arrest him.

With all due respect, you, sir, are an idiot. Hopefully the "arrest" scared your son from ever getting into a car after drinking. You should thank the officer. Imagine if your son had hit, maybe killed someone. His life would be ruined.

IMHO, anyone stopped for the first time for DUI..assuming there was no accident, injury, or property damage involved. The cop observes the individual driving erratically, makes the stop, does the breathalyzer..the person should have their license suspended for 30 days...this makes them realize the consequences..and have to attend the safety courses like she did. Do trial, no points, no conviction..no record that affects insurance. One free pass..hopefully the lesson is learned. This way people won't try to beat the ticket..instead they'll hopefully address the problem of their behavior.

You should say a little prayer of thanks every day for the cop that stopped your son..

I hold a Class A CDL drivers licence and I can be arrested on a chargeof DUI with a blood alcohol level of. 04. It is up to the arresting officer to decide even if I am riding my motorcycle whether I can be taken into custody..04 is half a beer. .08 is the norm but it was. 10 . Most people equate dui with being raging drunk but its not always the case

You did not say that your son had not been drinking..rather that there was something wrong with the arrest, hence he beat the rap.

in the 90's when my oldest daughter was a teenager, two of her classmates were killed in separate incidents involving DUIs. In one case, the girl had been drinking..in the other, she was hit by a drunk teenager driver. I know both families...they are devastated.

I hope that the stop made a lifelong impression on your son..he'll remember what it felt like..he'll never do it again, and one day he'll give you the second greatest joy a parent can experience...that of being a grandparent.

.04 is half a beer. Most people equate dui with being raging drunk
.04 is two beers and it's my understanding that DUI is .01 to .08 ... and DWI is .09 and higher.

I think the DUI charges are being dropped as some LEOs are getting some nice Miami Heat home game tickets. No, that is impossible...there is no corruption in Miami....

Where can you be arrested for DUI if your blood alcohol lever is at. 08 or lower? Not in my state for the average citizen. But people with CDLs are held to a different standard even if they are not driving a commercial vehicle. .04 . Also the comment about 2 beers is. 04 is BS too. It is determined by your body weight
