President Obama vowed Tuesday that he would pursue an immigration reform vote in the House the "day after" Congress reached an agreement to reopen the government and raise the debt ceiling.
"Once thats done, you know, the day after -- Im going to be pushing to say, call a vote on immigration reform," Obama told Univision's Los Angeles affiliate. "And if I have to join with other advocates and continue to speak out on that, and keep pushing, Im going to do so because I think its really important for the country. And now is the time to do it."

All the more reason to leave the government shut down; in fact, when he throws down the gauntlet like that, simply announce that all talks are over until the mid-term elections are over next year.
Screw it... shut it down and let it all crash. I’d rather be abandoned and free than have to live in meximolia.
The way things are going, I am not sure I look forward to the mid-term elections.
Collapse the system, you SOB.
Open borders and an ever expanding Federal Leviathan. So what’s the point in even having a Republican Party? Is it to prune around the edges of the Federal plantation?
OBAMA: “. . .I think its really important for the country.”
Yeah, it’s important for the Republic of Mexico.
Hussein going scorched earth on the U.S.
Unemployment in Mexico is around 5%...
Creating one crisis after another, it is what Hussein does best.
You folks on the Southern border get ready for a stampede the likes of which you have never seen.
It seems to be working with a compliant media and an ignorant public. It’s up to Republicans to just say no. It’s up to us to encourage them to do just that. Ryan et al seem to be in a hurry to jump right in to this mess.
Obamacare and Amnesty are the nails in America’s coffin. His legacy in communist circle will be secure.
His opposition is pathetic. And anyone who does oppose him gets maligned by everyone, including, most notably, people who claim to be on the side of the opposition ( ‘conservatives’ and otgerwise opposed to Obama). I cannot believe what I heard from bill Bennett and savage instructing their audience. Bennett said yesterday it was crazy (crazy) to oppose McCain, as he’s on our side
A man who has studied philosophy and debate at the post graduate level instructs ‘in voting, you vote for the most conservative’
This is the learned opposition. He said McCain is 40,70,60 percent right. Can’t find the numbers? But he makes an assertion
I’d like to hear an example of one instance of McCain being right.
They ripped Cruz on the McLaughlin report citing poll numbers
They’re out to discourage. Lots and lots of big money is in play and behind the scenes
Prayer is going to be important.
I suppose Republicans ought to include money for a border fence in the new budget, with NO amnesty until it is completed and we have had seven years with no illegal crossings.
After all, a border fence IS the law.
If you find yourself in a conversation with someone bemoaning their ObamaCare costs take the opportunity to remind them that those costs will be greatly increased with tens of millions of illegals granted amnesty and added to the rolls of freeloading ObamaCare recipients.
We’ge got criminaliens chaining themselves to ICE busses now thanks to this SOB.
Dear mercy, it never ends with him.....but we have been fighting this (illegals) since the Bush
NO MORE IMMIGRATION.
First bring back American jobs.
"Bush had higher approval rating than Obama at this point in his presidency"
Another reason to keep government shut down. If only it could last three more years...........
He must be bored or trying to bring his ratings up - an interview w WABC in NY (IIRC) yesterday and Univision.
If they aired during the day the non-47% didn’t see it as we were working. That said, I flip channels when he’s on, so wouldn’t have seen/heard it anyway.
He has to try to do that. Time is running out to get a bill that both houses agree on. Holidays coming fast.
House member Lou Gomert R-Texas was on Kelly File (FNC) last night and she asked him if he understood that the House would probably pass a Senate CR that didnt have anything that House Republicans wanted put in it (no Vitter Amendment ) , after the failure to agree on an alternative house bill last night,
Lou responded that the shutdown put off the House working on immigration reform(volley of bills I assume), as a good thing.
It sure looks like the plan is unfolding. Our spoiled brat president is willing to collapse the country. If he can be stopped by congress I think he will resign and prefer a golf retirement in Hawaii. Biden becomes president, Biden appoints Hillary as VP. Ensuring her viability for 2016. Biden wanted an early taste so he got to vacation at Camp David with all his family.
Bill Bennett led a government agency that many conservatives believe is unconstitutional. While he's got a big conservative reputation, I don't take him seriously when he talks about the big picture.
Given how this SOB has treated Congress the last month regarding the budget CR and debt ceiling, he should be rewarding with no immigration reform whatsoever.
He comes out with statements that are jaw dropping for any American, much less someone who calls himself conservative.
Drug czar, right.
Endless pressure; endless crises, Cloward Piven strategy to collapse the system.
This is the Big One. It would cement the WORST aspects of O-Care, not to mention everything leftist and criminal. Gun rights? Finished. Legal voting? No more. Drug trafficking, human trafficking, you name it. Entire counties would be balkanized, and it could even spread into entire states. Checkmate.
I wouldn’t even bother posting anymore if this passes. Nor would I display the Flag. Too risky at that point. We would be done, time to lie low and consider spreading freedom to other nations and salting in freedom concepts with subtely the way communist ‘citizens’ have done it.
Unless their right to vote is actually delayed. But even then, there would be a push to speed it up and race to hispander.
Thanks Boner!
Here comes the final nail in the coffin.
Hidden in that stampede will be al Qaeda terrorists and the most brutal criminal syndicate in the Western World.
He needs a lot more new voter po’ folks cuz his Unaffordable Care is about to wake up about half the taxpayers that voted for the POSresident.
Its a race for time till the next debt ceiling crisis.
[You folks on the Southern border get ready for a stampede the likes of which you have never seen.]
“Hidden in that stampede will be al Qaeda terrorists and the most brutal criminal syndicate in the Western World.”
Exactly Right. And while the TSA feel up all the women, check grandma for bombs, make wheelchair passengers get up and go through the scanner, terrorists walk across the border unfettered carrying anything they want.
“The way things are going, I am not sure I look forward to the mid-term elections.”
I understand, but at some point the only way to go is up.

...The Republican Party must embrace more legal immigration.
Unfortunately, like many of the major debates in Washington, immigration has become a stalemate-where both sides are imprisoned by their own rhetoric or attachment to sacred cows that prevent the possibility of a balanced solution.
Immigration Reform will not occur until Conservative Republicans, like myself, become part of the solution. I am here today to begin that conversation.
Lets start that conversation by acknowledging we arent going to deport 12 million illegal immigrants.
If you wish to work, if you wish to live and work in America, then we will find a place for you...
This is where prudence, compassion and thrift all point us toward the same goal: bringing these workers out of the shadows and into being taxpaying members of society.
Imagine 12 million people who are already here coming out of the shadows to become new taxpayers.12 million more people assimilating into society. 12 million more people being productive contributors.
[but hes not in favor of amnesty, snicker, definition of is is]
Thanks Arthur Wildfire! March.
