The Sheriff did not return phone calls, so details are scarce. At this point, we know two burglars tried to break into a home Saturday just outside Rockport City limits. Sources say the homeowner shot at the burglars, but its not clear if they were hit.

I know what you mean. It is one of the things about an effective ban on gun mufflers, through excessive taxation and regulation, that is insane.
I would love to have a .300 AAC with a good suppressor for home defense.
A house acts like an excellent suppressor for everybody outside, anyway.
