If Republicans dont join together with Democrats to pass comprehensive immigration reform, they will never win another national election, according to Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.).
-snip-
Gutierrez is an outspoken progressive, but he has still made somewhat unlikely alliances with Republicans in order to push immigration reform. In 2012, the Illinois Democrat praised the immigration reform strategy presented by Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.), someone he had previously called an extremist. Gutierrez also partnered with Rep. Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) earlier this year, participating in a pair of immigration reform events in Chicago.

Well then, I guess we’ll just have to move to the states that will be seceding.
The national electoral success of the GOP party in and of itself isn’t a worthwhile goal absent decent policies—except as a career vehicle for GOP-branded politicians.

If Republicans “join together with the Democrats” to create 40+ million new Democrat voters, then why would anyone bother voting Republican ever again?
There really would be no difference between the 2 parties.

Exactly. Open borders and amnesty would make Texas and Florida blue states. The combination of California, New York, Illinois, Texas, and Florida would create a huge uphill electoral challenge for Republicans. Republicans need to wise up and realize that the millions whose immigration they facilitate will not be voting for them. Heck, the way they are going, I wonder how much longer I can!

But that’s just it. Republicans do support immigration reform. Because by today’s standard, actually securing the border, suspending all ‘free stuff’ payments to illegals, and penalizing businesses who hire illegal workers would be a reform.

The GOP needs to learn to think about what the outcome of their decsions are before being tricked or goaded into them to do exactly what the Left wants them to do. Stop being shamed and offended by what they say and be cunning like a fox not stupid like an old ox...
To: jimbo123
Luis Gutierrez is dead on right, but NOT because of illegal immigration. But because of the irreparable split of the Tea Party Republicans and the Obama Republicans. Right now the House Republicans seems to be about a 65-70 percent Tea Party and the Senate Republicans about 30 percent.
To me that means, the the House stays Republican for at least 4 years, the Senate probably stays Democrat for at least six more years. And the White Hut will remain Democrat for at least three more terms.
I seriously doubt I will live long enough to see another Republican President.
But if we make a break before 2016, I just MIGHT live long enough to see a Tea Party President.

The demo vote buying scheme has been perfected so you are probably right however, it may be more important to control the legislature and I think that is doable.
To: jimbo123
What he really means is, as it becomes clear that it’s stupid for any white person to vote Democrat, unless the illegal aliens are turned into voters the DEMOCRATS will never win another national election.

Unfortunately the ‘old guard’ has been proven to be incredibly stupid, often arrogant, and too compacent mired down in the mud by their own fat. We need to infuse some younger, smarter, and cunning constitutionlist patriots into the party. I’ve seen them. There are some young intelligent patriots brewing out there. I’ve met quite a few and they are being groomed for the job as we speak. Hopefully they will hatch soon...; )

Change “doesn’t” to “does” and it’ll be fine.

The illegals around here don’t want amnesty, if it means having to get on Obamacare. They say they’d rather go home where failed government healthcare comes without all the BS and hassles.

hmmmm...just a few months ago the 'pubs were saying they needed a larger percentage of the hispanic vote. With Cruz and Rubio, they've got the Cuban vote along with other hard working, established hispanics and Puerto Ricans who just want to be able to run a small business and live a decent, honest life.
So what do the RINOs want to do now? Legalize the invaders, who mostly aren't that vote that supports conservative ideals. Besides being saboteurs, traitors and campaign liars, the RINOs don't even make any sense anymore.
Methinks Guerterriz protests because he knows damn well Cruz can easily be elected if the RINOs would slither into oblivion.

With the RINO Party's complete capitulation on kenyancare and considering the conservative base is abandoning the RINO Party ahead of the mid-term elections, it's quite clear that the Democrat Socialist Party understands they can get whatever they want whenever they want it.
With this total victory they are now confident -- emboldened, really -- that there is nothing that will stop them from imposing their utopian vision of the socialist state ... not the American people (either informed or ignorant), not the Constitution (and its limits on government power), and certainly not the unbroken string of failures of socialist governments and policies throughout recorded history.
