If you've tried to sign up online for health coverage under the problem-plagued Obamacare exchange, our sympathies. Many people have tried to create accounts and shop for insurance under the new law. Few have succeeded. Those that have enrolled have found that the system is prone to mistakes. Some applications have been sent to the wrong insurance company.
Wait. It gets worse. Those who have managed to browse the marketplace have often been hit by sticker shock. Take Adam Weldzius, a nurse practitioner and single father from Carpentersville. He sought the same level of coverage on the exchange as he and his 7-year-old daughter have now, with the same insurer and the same network of doctors and hospitals. At best, Weldzius found, his monthly premium of $233 would more than double. If he chose a plan priced at the same level, the annual deductible would be $12,700, more than three times his current $3,500 deductible.

Obamacare is getting the “comeback kid” treatment. The media will timidly criticize it. Some in the media may even get close to being upset. But, we are a comfortable amount of time from the next election.
As the election nears, the media will be singing the praises of Obamacare and thanking the magnificent Obama for giving such a wondrous gift to his loyal subjects.
Problem: Unit test to Production. IMO
If you like ObamaCare, you’ll love it with added amnesty.
The system is designed to leece the people not provide healthcare. Maybe the Left will get that whn they visit the doc 10 times and realize they’re having to pay their bills out of pocket and that their famed Obiecare hasn’t paid a dime yet or when their grandmother is euthanized because the possibility of her getting a liver transplant is too low based on the point system based on her age, party affiliation, and non-working, low-tax contributing status.
Just go ahead and admit it libs, you were conned. The man in the WH has taken your nation and reduced it to rubble and handed you the demolition bill...
So how is it a “law” if they can grant waivers to whomever they want?

The editorial by headline promises to tell us why Obamacare is a mess but only describes the mess without identifying the underlying cause.
Obamacare is a mess because it is a fraud. It is an attempt to radically transform society along utopian socialist lines by manipulating the delivery of healthcare while lying about the costs. It is a surreptitious massive transfer of wealth camouflaged by concern over delivering healthcare to the uninsured. It is aimed to gain physical, political, and moral control over the population. It is a bureaucratic monstrosity because it's originators felt the need to hide their socialist goals behind thousands of pages of legislation and tens of thousands of pages of regulation.
Obamacare is a mess because the consequences of the fraudulent undertaking are to inflate the costs of healthcare, bureaucratize it, intrude on patient privacy, and destroy the doctor-patient relationship.
In short, Obamacare is not about healthcare but about Marxism.
ABSOLUTELY!
Didn't their editorial board get the talking points memo from the Spite House?
The piece is in my mind pro forma. That is, there is the realization that there is bad trouble in River City. The trouble must be acknowledged.
The old Gray Whore used the term embarrassed. It is the lamestreamers that are embarrassed. They know not what to do except carefully admit there is a problem.
They can not blather about a solution because the scope of the problem is beyond comprehension.
If you're going to have a command economy, you need to have lots of commands. ACA is a 2000 page law with (so far) over 10,000 pages of interpretive regulations.
If you're going to have that many commands, you'll also need short cuts and exceptions for those who run the system, because they're so important to the common welfare that they can't be held up by red tape. Sounds like the Soviet nomenklatura/apparatchik system, doesn't it?
Also, there’s no power like arbitrary power, aka:
“at the discretion of the Sec of HHS...”
“Problem: Unit test to Production. IMO”
I think the problem is the requirements came from the flow diagram of Obamacare. Then the company took Canada’s single pay system that they wrote and tried to modify the code to accommodate Obamacare.
No SIT, AIT, UAT, poor project management, horrible requirements gathering and no oversight by anyone. Senior management (HHS, IRS, Administration) said build it and then they walked away.
What should happen is the day after the fiscal gong show is over, haul everyone on the core project team in front of congress on national TV to discuss what went on.
First person to be fired is the CIO of the government. Followed by department heads of each organization that has a hand in the requirements. Finally, I would make the vendor pay back every penny.
Sadly the liberals won’t get it.
The split second grandma can’t get a transplant, or they are stuck with paying a $6k deductible, the rat politicians will blame it on ‘funding gaps’ because those mean old nasty republicans won’t raise taxes.
The liberals can always count on a large helping of stooopid, to win support.

Your comment should be put on every billboard in America.
Bravo!!!!! Post of the year.
Insurers have done the math on providing “insurance” on people that have a 100% risk of filing a claim. The math says they have to make dramatic changes to deductibles, plans and rates to make their policy adhere to the ACA requirements. It is the only way to make a profit.
This is, of course, intentional on the part of the bills writers who know that this will kill commercially available individual insurance plans and push the country in to single payor.
No auto insurer could make money selling car insurance cheaply that “covers” accidents after the fact. No home insurer could make money if they would sell a policy at standard rates on houses after the house has burned down. All of this is like the government telling life insurers that they have to sell me life insurance on my already dead grandparents.
It is impossible for any insurance plan to work when it covers claims after they have happened and you only have to make one payment for coverage. That is another problem with the ACA. Someone can not buy it and pay the tax then if they have a big medical problem they go out and buy coverage that pays their claims.
It does not matter if it is a commercial insurer or the government this all simply will not work. Unless you take huge sums from people that will not have a claim and give it to the people with pre-existing conditions.
The ACA is designed to destroy the current insurance system and replace it with something that is not insurance. It is a socialistic system that will choke under its own weight. In their lust to grab a large block of cash flow the writers of the law “we have to pass before we know what’s in it” have intentionally created a law that by design destroys a lot of Americans financially to transfer wealth to people that should be responsible for their own lives.
Control of every citizen, if you don't do what the government says you don't get healthcare. If you thought closing national parks and monuments was bad, wait till you see what Obamacare has in store for you.
Increase the number of UNIONIZED government workers, thereby increasing the contributions to RAT candidates.
Obamacare has virtually nothing to do with healthcare.
Yes, yes, and yes! It was designed to fail. Think about it, the “law” was lying-in-wait in a drawer somewhere. No one read it before voting, tens of thousands of pages of regs no one can comprehend nor manuever, the lies and more lies some people are starting to realize. CHAOS! Confusion! Intended. Their M.O. They “tried”, but it’s the republican’s fault for messing things up! The “ends justifies the means”. They care NOT who gets crushed or hurt along the way. Typical soviet style statism. Period.
and no NETWORK testing at all.
> You’re semi-right, the system is designed to raise taxes on everyone by forcing them to buy insurance, but it’s main purposes are:
Control of every citizen, if you don’t do what the government says you don’t get healthcare. If you thought closing national parks and monuments was bad, wait till you see what Obamacare has in store for you.
I’m well aware of that. Based on 5 years observation I’m convinced that 0 does not care what The People think. He merely regards them as obstacles or tools. He is on a mission handed to him which will amass him more wealth than most people could ever dream of by raping and fleecing The People with ideological goals that will will lead us to a one world government. We know what comes after that is established; something that will make Obama pale in comparison.
It is the only way to make it work at all!
A tiny detail has been studiously ignored by the public (understandable,) by the MSM (less understandable,) and by the political, elected opponents of the Marxist economic coup... unforgivable!
The Marxists have been allowed, unmolested, to redefine "insurance" both semantically and legally. This profound perpetually tragedy is the worst result of the machinations and excesses of the current Marxist regime.
If they can redefine "insurance," they have been allowed to redefine anything in the future.
"Freedom," "Rights," "shall," "property," "wealth," "account," "estate," "reconciliation," 'compromise," etc.
Henceforth, all concepts and words become meaningless and subject to totalitarian whim.
In view of this fact alone, the threat of "default" becomes inconsequential by comparison.
And the beat goes on...
Now they have effectively taken over (ALL) Insurance. An industry over 300 years old, shazam! gone.
What's left before meekly welcoming the new USSA?
