If true, definitely time for Boehner to go. He should resign and save the caucus the trouble of firing him.

The GOP will probably lose the House over this decision. It will be blamed on the shutdown, but it will be because the GOP can’t stand up and fight effectively and communicate. Boehner is an awful, no fire in the belly, spokesperson and it is debilitating.

Has the Senate plan actually passed yet? Other articles are saying that Reid is trying to get unanimous consent for their bill.

Boehner is planning on passing this with Dem votes.. not the Republican base.

The Republican base can knock him out as Speaker.

What sort of platform would Ted Cruz have had if he wasn't a person with Tea Party sentiments in the Republican party? None. Independents, Green Party, Constitution party, etc. DO NOT get heard. The first "coup" needs to be of the Republican party...that is if there will be such a party by the end of the year.

Not surprised. Not surprised at all.

Just a big political soap opera series for the last two weeks.

Disgusting.

I'm not even seeing that the Senate bill has passed yet. Cruz seems to be holding up unanimous consent.

Ap reported last night Boehner will send a message to senate so one procedural hurdle is avoided in senate. Sure sounds like a deal was struck but we will know by noon.

You have to come to grips with the idea that to move forward we must destroy the GOP as a functioning party.

I know that’s a hard thing to do, but it’s fundamentally the only way forward.

If your representative isn’t a conservative, primary them. If the RINO wins and represents in the general, withhold your vote or vote for the DEM.

Eventually they will get the message.

I believe you saw this with Romney on a small scale, the next elections will go even more along these lines.

Fear not! Let Obamacare move forward to its doom. Let its doom be 100% on Obama. Don’t give him any excuses for its delay or ultimate failure.

Yeah, maybe Lucy won’t yank the football away...

But to be clear, I for one differentiate between “the House”, and “House leadership when “caving” is discussed.

Boehner's decision will allow the kabuki dance to continue. The House conservative Reps can vote their conscience by voting no and the RINOs can vote with the Dems to pass the bill.

Boehner will do the same thing with immigration reform. I suspect Boehner will call it quits at the end of his current term,

People have been crowing “CAVE” at FR since before the shutdown actually happened.

**********
It’s not like there’s no history underlying this concern. The GOP has a very long record of caving. It the one thing they are consistently “good” at doing. :)

There isn't a Senate bill for them to cave on yet. Everybody seems to be rushing to embrace a defeat that hasn't happened, and isn't even set up to happen yet.

-- Cruz and Lee should deny unanimous consent in the Senate. --

They will, that's the justification for the 60 vote supermajority threshold for passing. 60 Senators can walk over up to 40 who withhold consent to limit debate.

Boehner has no intention of doing the right thing, even with the backing of We The People.
His incompetency is undermining what his position should be doing and he should resign, Now!

Maybe Cruz can turn his attention to Boehner and set a fire under his drunk ass. This is unacceptable.
