Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) has agreed to allow a vote in the House on the emerging Senate debt-ceiling deal, according to a Senate source.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) and Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) were racing Wednesday to put the finishing touches on the deal ahead of Thursday's deadline for raising the $16.7 trillion debt limit.

“allow a vote”?? That’s mighty, uh, big of him!

It is a big deal. Just ask Harry Reid.

What we don't want is for him to forward a bill that gets all of the Dems and a couple dozen Republicans and passes.

So, if he is smart, he will not allow any such bill to come to the floor.

Agreed, he has no choice. Has to let the vote go through. Hard to fight an egomaniac (Obama) and his trusty sidekick (Reid) when all the democrats march in lockstep.

The sequester cuts were retained! That is a GOP win.
Obamacare may die on its own weight.

We still have the House. Play it right, maybe the Senate. Certainly, won’t help if we keep gov’t shut down. Just can’t manage the PR campaign. No one cares!

We lick our wounds, learn from it and get to fight again.

He has to allow the vote or take all the blame for ‘default’.

Why? Dingy Harry didn't allow the Senate to vote on the House bill, and I don't see anyone but us blaming him for the shutdown.

Let the media be your guide. If the media (and that includes Fox) says someone is ahead in the polls, or if they endorse someone, or say someone is the "right choice for Republicans", or any such thing.... they are the WRONG person.

The MSM picked McCain and Romney, and appear to be picking Christie.

“Default” is a lie. More than enough money comes in to make debt payments. It’s a boogey-man issue.

The sequester cuts were retained! That is a GOP win.

Only for three more months. Come January/February, that's going to be the next hill that the united democrats fight to die on and the divided, worthless republicans cave on. Watch and see.

Agreed ... and voting for RINO wanna-be 'RATS is even more stupid (or "stupider" for the benefit of obama supporters) ... So what's a conservative to do?

If he does, a majority of Republicans will vote against him.
He will not survive as Speaker, and the GOP will not survive, period.

The overwhelming numbers of Americans are against funding Obamacare, and conservatives will form their own party, placing the GOP as irrevalancy..

That’s what happens when the Chicgo Democrat thugs have your NSA files.

HA! You keep thinking that. I don't think Boehner needed to be threatened to give the democrats ALL they want in a spiteful move against Tea Party conservatives.

The House never sent Harry a debt limit bill.
They didn’t vote on one much less pass one.

Which surprised me.

(You’re thinking of the CR bill maybe.)
