I believe, I believe, and Santa Claus is busy making toys for Christmas even as we speak.

At any rate when they finish paying back all of the vacationing Government employees it will sure move on up.

How long would the press let a Republican president do this - ie turn off the debt clock? Without saying anything about it?

Considering the debt had been rising like clockwork at $100 billion per month up until that point, expect that the actual debt at this point is $500 billion higher.

When they vote on the debt limit increase later tonight I wonder what the new limit will be given they start out a half trillion in the hole that they've yet to acknowledge.

“expect that the actual debt at this point is $500 billion higher.”

That must mean that they literally printed up $500 billion OR income exceeded expenses by that amount OR a combination of the two.

Anyone here believe they DIDN’T just print up the money?

Yes, I do.

They just added zeros to the ledger and pretended they printed the money.

..... It is very curious that the number stayed frozen at that given amount for 150 strait days which does definitely appear to be some kind of impossible anomaly. My question would be .... what the heck does this mean? Why didn't the powers that be at least attempt to hide this anomaly which is now a blaring siren and sign of something. The number did not even fluctuate one penny! If it was a simple glitch it would have been de-glitched by now and no one would be the wiser.

... Given the most recent activity as of late perhaps the number 16,699,396,000,000 might signify the collective number of brain cells left withing the the US Congress, specifically the GOP.... but then I realized that if that were the case that number would have dropped exponentially over the past few weeks. So I am flummoxed to figure out what this thing signifies and why was it left frozen at that particular number for all to see? .... Hmmmmmm ..... Very curious.

They’ve admitted they’ve been raiding the TSP (civil-service “401k”) piggy bank, and that well runs dry tomorrow.

They need to hide that half-trillion; I’m guessing they’ll just add $100 billion times the number of months extension they’re adding.

The $500 billion won’t be recognized until after they’ve got a “final agreement”.

IOW, we had been past the debt ceiling since summer. Note, the country and the world economy didn’t collapse as all the elites were preaching. And NO ONE questioned it. The GOP-e didn’t and caved so this out of control spending can recklessly continue.

Is this just the debt ceiling, and therefore is meaningless?

Kind of funny that we finally ran out of money when the government was shut down. Kind of like the Dems planed to use it when the GOP finally stood up to them.

Seems like this was planned months ago just like the thuggish behavior of the parks officers. I just have a hard time believing that the parks fiasco was not premeditated.

And lets not forget about the lack of chaplain service even thought it was to be preformed for free. Or how about the holding of the death benefit's for our fallen soldiers.

Lets face it the dems know how to play the weak GOP-e for suckers.

WE NEED NEW GOP LEADERSHIP AS THE CURRENT GOP HAS PROVEN INCOMPITANT!

This was just the amount “on paper.”
Does anyone really know where all the money is and where are all off the accounts the money is kept?
