Skip to comments.Boehner Survives Speakership for Now, But Rep. Tom Price Rises
Posted on 10/16/2013 3:30:50 PM PDT by Olog-hai
With John Boehner receiving low marks from both moderates and conservatives over his handling of the now- resolved government shutdown and debt-ceiling battles, discussion is rife over whether any fellow House Republican will challenge him as speaker.
Though the conventional wisdom is that the wily Ohioan will survive, there is enough residual anger to make his continued hold on the position something less than a foregone conclusion.
The name being mentioned most as his potential successor is Georgia Rep. Tom Price, who resisted pressure to challenge Boehner at the start of the 113th Congress in January.

Donald Duck could do a better job.
I’ve got two words.....TREY GOWDY!
Great choices for Speaker nomination:
1. Walter Williams
2. Thomas Sowell
3. Rush Limbaugh - to really piss em off.
4. Tom DeLay - again, piss off factor.
5. Ted Cruz - no reason he can’t be Speaker. Liberal heads explode.
6. Sarah Palin - really have liberal heads explode.
Remember anyone can be nominated as Speaker, doesn’t have to be a current serving House member.
Boehner needs to be kicked out of the speakership. He’s not effective pushing the Conservative message. He’s there for his own benefit and right now that’s something we don’t need.Boehner has to GO.
He’s not going anywhere. He has the support of the caucus now. It’s disgusting. He has destroyed the party along with Mitch.
Joe Carr to oust Lamar Alexander in TN
Lee Bright to oust Lindsey Graham in SC
PLEASE, contact Louie Gohmert and tell him we want to add his name as opposing Cornyn
Pox on him he is a bastard just like the rest of them. I can not take it anymore. Double pox on Hairy Reed
OUT with the OLD—IN with the BOLD.
(watch your backs, traitor senators. We’re mad as hell.)
While you’re at it, can we have PeeWee Herman oust Dianne Fineswine in California?
I want Tom DeLay
“Hes not going anywhere. He has the support of the caucus now. Its disgusting. He has destroyed the party along with Mitch.”
Boehner may have the support of his caucus but come Election Day the party will be over.
Unless the Tea Party becomes a force to be reckoned with the conservatives will stay home. Why go vote for a party that won’t support you?
Wouldn’t it be amazing if, after all that has happen, IT FAILED?? LOL
We live in VERY troubled times,FRIEND, but nobody can say that these times aren’t exciting. ;>)
I am so angry about this.
The Soviet Union just won the Cold War posthumously.
Why is he only wily when fighting his own? He has NEVER displayed an ounce of wiliness when facing Pelosi, Reid or Obama - whinyness yes, wiliness no.
Jim Traficant is also from Ohio...but he has a set of balls.
Tom McClintock would be a great addition to your list.
I wish he was a lot more visible, but he just does his job and doesn't look for attention....sigh....
You can add Allen West to that list. I know the left would call him a few names. I like Tom DeLay too. Get “The Hammer” back in there to get things done.
Exactly my point:
Perhaps that should have been spelled “ Wile E. Ohioan”. Makes more sense that way.
Rick Santelli - screaming no more spending!!
Road Runner Reid - who knew?
do you realize that Gowdy is a amnesty traitor ??
did you read that troll trashed Rep Steve King from Iowa fir fighting against
“The name being mentioned most as his potential successor is Georgia Rep. Tom Price, who resisted pressure to challenge Boehner at the start of the 113th Congress in January. ”
If he once backed off from challenging the most spineless wimp in congress, what good is he? Replacing one spineless wimp for another?
Boehner announced over a month ago he was not re-running for speakership of House — don’t remember date but was before shutdown was a thought — a thought to us anyway.
Price was my rep before redistricting... In a word... NO!
We need a FIGHTER as the speaker! TP is NOT that guy...
America is sinking! Everyone to the life boats! Women, children and Boehner first!
Boehner gets a pass. He isn’t the problem. Did not have the votes. Elections have consequences. Not one member of his caucus voted for Obamacare.
Dump this weepy drunk.
You know what is funny? I have never heard a democrat say “elections have consequences” when republicans were in power. Never.
“Okay bring in Jim Traficant.”
I loved that guy every time he took the floor - “Beam me up, Scotty.”
That’s the past. It’s what they vote for now that counts, and de-facto votes for Obamacare now erase the past.
Exactly. Perhaps even more spineless, if aught be possible.
Jim Traficant is the political Barney Fife..
