In Tennessee, activists said they have seen a surge of enthusiasm for an effort to eject Alexander from office.

“This has energized people,” said Ben Cunningham, president of the Nashville Tea Party. “This confirmed our perception that we are going to have to replace people in Congress who talk conservative — and talk and talk and talk — and do nothing.”

Cunningham said activists’ focus on upcoming elections underscores how the tea party has transformed itself since it first emerged in 2009.

“We have gone from a protest movement to a movement about the nuts and bolts of elections,” he said.

Either the Tea Party gets elected as the majority in both the Senate and House in 2014 - or this country is going to get smashed by the liberals, socialists, and illegals that want nothing but total annihilation of the Republic!

GOP fights quite well with conservatives but surrenders quite well with liberals. Time for a new Party.

The Tea Party needs to recruit new people and be open to new ideas to survive and possibly grow. I do admire the Tea Party people but they do not come off as accepting new people or ideas. Young people want this,

The GOP civil war has been a long time coming. What’s the point of the GOP winning the house and senate next year when we know we’ll get the same bunch of RINO do-nothing capitulators. At this point I’m actually hoping the Dems get both the house and senate.

They need to enumerate what the effects of capitulation will be to the American people.

-Higher taxes
-Higher insurance premiums
-Reduction in healthcare service
-Higher rates of inflation
-Higher loss of jobs
-A reduction in US credit worthiness
-Accelerated loss of US reserve currency status.

All of these impoverish more Americans while benefitting politicians with greater levels of public dependency upon government handouts.

Americans are being turned into debt-slaves.

TEA Party has been successfully marginalized, ridiculed and mocked into oblivion by the entire Political/Media/Entertainment complex, including those who we’ve supported. The betrayal of the Republic is complete. Welcome to the new “Social Democracy” that is the United States. Our sole purpose in life is to shut up and work for the benefit of others then die in misery.

They fight like hell against Conservatives because the MSM acts as their cheerleaders when they attack their base.

The MSM turns against them when they utter so much as a peep against the left, so they run and hide from those battles.

Prepare for twenty years in the wilderness as we build a REAL opposition party and consign the GOP to the dustbin of history.

You must be talking about a different Tea Party than I’m dealing with.

Why does this sound more and more like Star Wars everyday?

Thanks newbie, because you wouldn’t dare get off your ass and actually get conservatives elected in the primaries. It’s just much easier to let it burn than fight.

That's exactly it. I'm puzzled at the complete animosity at those who scoff at the very idea of 3rd party. It's like oil drilling -- the libs all went nuts because "it will take TOO LONG!" and this was their excuse (notice I didn't say 'reason') for not doing it?? As if waiting would help? I'm going to have to come to terms with living in a socialist country, but I'd like to be able to say I helped start something positive for my kids and future grandkids.
