It is the thing I would like to hear more than anything else. Perhaps it is why it is frustrating when the leadership does not provide any.

IMHO, broad strokes unless presented with the fact that the shutdown was part a plan cooked up by Obie, Reid and Piglousey in 2012 for the express purpose of making the House Pubbies look bad (as if...) and getting the Dems control back in 2014.

Sidewalk/driveway/landscape project progress report 10/17/13:

Dry-laid paver block sidewalk is completed, polymeric sand hardened, can be used now as daily walk:

R/S house landscape completed. White line indicates v-shaped bed edge I have yet to cut. Downspout splash pans have Pocono River Stone for spillway to lawn area, after mulch is installed:

Drip irrigation system & emitter installed at every plant, with electronic timer on spigot:

Soils are still too saturated from 14.72" rain last week, to be workable for raking/seeding. Need add'l 1-2 days to dry-out.

Waiting for 35-40 CuYds of dbl-shredded hardwood mulch delivery, probably on Monday. Initial application will be 3" deep; subsequent spring applications will be 1½-2", so as not to bury plants too deep, causing them to suffocate. Too much water and to much mulch is "killing with kindness".

Greg Garrison or one of his guests mentioned the same yesterday, but a source wasn’t named for the info. Certain it wasn’t Beinart because they said “especially in the East” and the Beinart article doesn’t mention anything about the East.

Just listened to it this morning and haven’t had time to do any research. Will ping if I find confirmation.

I have a book at home that shows how to capture downspout rainwater into barrels, for use on lawns. It supposedly pays for itself in a year through savings of water used to water the lawn and garden, but not here...we got 12” of rain two years ago, and 6” this year.

In California there was a guy a while back who was fined for using water falling on his house lot for the purpose of watering his garden.

The state claimed that the water needed to be allowed to flow into the public reservoirs, I assume so that they could charge him for it when he turned on the tap.

The world is upside down. Hide your water barrels.

As I said yesterday, I am disappointed with the outcome, but think for a minute: This 8 years is going down in history as Obama, not the Congress, but OBAMA! and his legacy will be: Just as bad if not worse than Jimmy Carter!....Obamacare is named after him, for years to come, its obamacare, the worst health plan in history, it doesn’t have Congress’s name or our name on it, it isn’t Americacare, its OBAMACARE!!!
